Dolomite,
This wasn't the full traverse (16 peaks) and not even the amended one I had intended on doing (11 peaks, South Notch to The Gap). I did the first two peaks on the left that is seen in that first big skyline shot. This ended up being a kind of recon test fun for something I might try later in the season. Once I decide on a link-up I like to tag each summit in the sequence, but moving fluidly is key up there. Each summit is pretty distinct and often involve lots of up and downclimbing.
Croft's "A Lifetime in a Day of a Mountaineer" is his write up on his single-push traverse of all 16 peaks (where he fell asleep standing on the hike out) is an absolute must-read if this peaks your interest in the area.
Here's what it can look like in a cold, snow-rich year

Dr. Rock,
The only thing snowblind was Black Sabbath, track 1, side 2, "Volume 4".

By the way -- you should have recordings of "Martin" and "Kitchen sink drama" if you don't already for the next time . Also : A Ritter range traverse would be like Banner to Iron Mt. or something . . . Think about it .

Hugh Safford in the summit reg! The original Rhino!
Them Minarets - thems my old strolling grounds. I got smacked with one of the worst thunder and hail shows I've ever seen in the basin just over the col from the backside of Ritter. My old piolet was a-buzzin'.

Last I heard he was in Berkeley - teaching I think. I overlapped with him in Bozeman in the way back machine. I have some contacts who might know where he is - email me dirksv at yahoo dot com if you want more.
