Wasn't there an attempt to name one of the small peaks near the east kiosk for him. I don't recall if it succeeded or not.

I have to wonder how much influence he had over his coworkers.
It was always a pleasure to be welcomed to the park by Ferdinand.
In fact, it is almost always a pleasant exchange at the Yosemite
entrance stations.
In contrast is the Yellowstone/Grand Teton experience. Almost
every time I have entered or left those parks I received an
impression that I was not welcome, but because my papers were in
order, I could not be turned away.
