Yes, that is the East But. But the lake is Iceberg. I think Avalanche is on the other side of the ridge. Any guesses on the lower photo?

I'll take a guess, the bottom photo is of Red Rock Canyon on hwy 14 north of Mojave

Yea Jody I have allways known it as Day needle as well. I got myself a scanner (Visioneer 9320, 3200 dpi), it took me a day to scan anything worth a sheet. Now I need to figure how to post it. I am kind of computer illiterate, but I will persevere soon.

Love it when winter brings out these beauty pic/guess threads (although they take forever to load)!
Gene, you may know you have to have your pictures on the web in a free gallery or something. Jody can explain. Please contribute, though - as fine as Jody's images are, he needs to shoot some new stuff. :) As for me, I don't have any cool mountain photos to share - in the Sierras anyway.
Oh, and Gene, what happened to "two hours away?" Did you finally arrive?
