What was the name of his film where he was a wounded soldier and stays in a house with some women/girls and they feed him poisonous mushrooms?

The Beguiled was a twisted flick for sure. A classic of that 70s macabre genre.
"We must endeavor to persevere" is another great quote from Outlaw Josey Wales. The chaw juice throughout that movie is splendid.
Someone once told me who was on the Eiger Sanction sets that Clint did most of his stunts and would've been a good climber had he started earlier and stuck with it. It's great that he experienced climbing, but I'm really glad he makes movies.

YOU guys didn't leave much to say, except that as both a director and an actor, Eastwood just keeps getting better.
Who would have thougth that the guy in those spahetti westerns or Dirty Harry would be making and performing in films like Million Dollar Baby?
And you left out two political thrillers, Line of Fire, and the one where Gene Hackman is the pres and Eastwood is a burglar who sees gene murder a girl.
I thought it was clear that Eastwood had directorial talent when he did The Outlaw Josey Wales, but he proved that it was more than just a little talent, or talent for a specific genre, with stuff like his film about John Houston, White Hunter Black Heart, and some of the other's you've already mentioned, like Mystic River, and MDB. That Flags of our Fathers movie was pretty fine too.
HE seems to have made all sorts of movies, except for a sci fi job.
I can't think of a poor one from him in the last 15-17 years.
Maybe his weakest one was Heartbreak Ridge, or Pale Rider, but those are still OK.

"looks like someone needs to teach you some manners"
"not from you, whiskey breath"
or somethin like that- High Plains Drifter?? I think..
works great to support your climbing partner as in-
"someone should send that rig"
reply- "Yeah, but it ain't gonna be you, whiskey breath"

Dr. Jonathan Hemlock: Pope, I really don't mind you being an as#@&%e, you really can't help that, but I do mind you lying to me like I was a fool. Now you came here with one thought in mind, and that was to attach yourself to me so the target would know who I am and what I am. Now, who's gonna perform this sanction if he gets me? You?
Pope: You don't think I can handle it?
Dr. Jonathan Hemlock: In a locked closet with a grenade.

Tightrope...a dark little gem.
Rented the DVD of Unforgiven the other day, and they had some cool old footage of Clint. A Maverick episode. Man, did he look young.
"I was lucky in the order, but I've always been lucky when it comes to killin' folks."
We staged an "Eiger night" a few weeks back on a friends big screen in his basement. Ate some rosti. Fun stuff.

My Funny and (claimed to be true) Clint Story:
Had a friend who worked in Sun Valley at many Gala events for the richie star types in the mid-early 90's. Was working one even where it was snowing really bad, and he was working the door. He spies a lone figure walking up the snowy drive..carrying a six pack with only 2 soldiers left aboard, and puffing what smells to be a bone. As the man approaches, he realize it's Clint. He offers the door man a brew, cracks the last one, and dispenses with it in short order...then asks the doo if he wants a puf off the jay before he stubbs it out.
Then Clint looks at him in teh eye, lets loose a big sigh and sez...
"man I hate these f*#king things.." and walks into the event.
Classic.

Don't foget the movie "Bird" about Charlie Parker. That was a labour of love for Clint.
I read that the studio didn't want to make it so Clint offered a trade, "I'll do another Dirty Harry if you bankroll Bird"

Come to think of it, the Eiger Sanction was probably the best climbing movie ever on the big screen.
I remember watching it wondering about the damn tunnel business through the mountain. I didnt fully understand until I actually rode up that train in the late 70's that it actually existed.

I'm a total Clint fan.
Just watched his newer "twin" films - Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima.
Totally amazing films. Highly recommend them both.
Eastwood has become a director who has enormous patience, and true respect for his actors, the story and his audience. In a word - a mature filmmaker.
A blessed relief in these times of reality trivia and endless celebrity nonsense.

I know what you're thinking - 'did he fire 6 shots or only 5?'
Well, to tell you the truth, in all this exctitement I've kind of lost track myself...
But being that this is a 44 magnum––the most powerful handgun in the world,
and would blow your head clean off––you've got to ask yourself one question...
'Do I feel lucky?'
Well, do ya, punk?

Ah - finally found a decent version on YouTube of the classic "do you feel lucky?" scene:

(high-quality - looks good at full screen if you click the button in the lower right)
I grew up in San Francisco, and saw Dirty Harry on the big screen in 1971, when I was 10 years old.
I thought it was the best movie ever!
