Had edamame for the first time at the Flagstaff Sushifest. Now I pick up at least a bag a week when I go for groceries. It makes a great snack. I need to find a place that sells it fresh, though. All I can find here is frozen.

I regret to inform you that I am not Fugu certified. But hey... I'd be glad to slice a few up and give it a try. Though... I do have better ways of killing my friends than with a neurotoxin.

When I was stationed in Japan, I remember hearing that Fugu afficianados thought it was perfect when it made the lips and tongue just a little bit numb.

Tom: cool you were in Japan, me too. I spent a year building Swedish Log houses outside of Kyoto in '95? Whenever the earthquake was in Kobe...
Look forward to seeing you again!

Sorry Doug, I wasn't trying to test you. I was just trying to ask a very specific question about albacore and why one particular place would have fish that is much better than anywhere else in the city.

Jan: I didn't really think you were. Just givin' ya a hard time.
Probably the difference in quality is based on if the stuff is fresh or frozen. I can't seem to find fresh albacore from any of my suppliers. I use to get the stuff off the docks in Humboldt and it was awesome. But the places I can get it from supply it frozen. The frozen stuff just isn't that good so I don't bother.
