Yeah, I’m going to sound all liberal self righteous on this one.
Denigrating someone by calling them trans is not cool in my book. I know little more about this woman other than the fact that her politics are quite a ways left of mine, but your ‘joke’ is akin to gay bashing and seems both intellectually oxygen starved, and self serving.
I live in a super rural, super white state, so I only know two trans people. However, those two people showed a lot of courage to change their lives to match what was in their hearts. Especially here in a conservative area. They knew what public sentiment would be, yet thet followed their hearts to be the humans they thought they were born to be.
Agree, disagree, I don’t really care. But to make fun of something you don’t understand is weak.

The hypocrisy on the left is epic. The "jokes" ya'll tell and the vile names and pics ya'll post against "Trumpkins" and Repubs in general are epic. But just mention the WORD "trans" and your panties are so wadded up and deeply inserted that your crying and moaning is pathetic (and surprisingly entertaining).

Pretty sure you confuse me with someone who bashes on the POTUS. While I disagree with most of his actions, you’ll find little to no record of me talking trash.
You, on the other hand, hide behind a pseudo intellectual persona.
My post above is correct. You have your opinions, and seemingly hold steadfast to them. I don’t recall ever reading you recant a position.
Some of us are not that way.
Additionally, conflating political leanings with gender choice simply shows a basic lack of both understanding and empathy. In the name of a joke.
Sure, you’ll have your counter argument, no doubt. But when it’s all said and done, you are the smaller person for staying in the lane of your preconceived notions, and being inflexible in them.

So triggered. So determined to prove their readiness to defend against perceived attacks, even when there IS none. The fact that you are SO worked up about what was obviously written in the same style and with comparable content to some actual news articles about people coming out, well, it just demonstrates how "offended" in principle you are at all times.
And, Brandon, your effort to box me in and "predict" in such a way as to to be "right" no matter how I respond is pretty laughable. I'm not manipulated by it in the slightest. If you ACTUALLY cared to be intellectually honest on this thread, you'd see exactly what I was doing, and you'd get off the predictable virtue signaling exhibited here.
When I talk about vile names and pictures in posts, I'm talking in generalities rather than about anybody in particular. MANY of the hand-wringing people on this thread HAVE posted some really vile crap, and they think it's funny when it's "justified" by their dislike of somebody. Hypocrites.
This was a really tame joke, but, as expected, the snowflakes are INSTANT to rise up in "offense" and virtue signaling. There's NOBODY to defend here, guys. NO actual person was hurt, unless you count yourselves, and if you were, that's pretty pathetic. The word "trans" should not be an instant offense trigger, even when used in a joking context. In your world, apparently only straight white male non-liberals can be joked about. EVERY other demographic is off-limits. Well, I reject that.
Yeah, Brandon, as you predicted, I'm not backing off of this one. The RESPONSES are ridiculous, not the OP. And all the name-calling in the world changes nothing about the FACT that this was nothing to be offended about, although I was quite confident that the reaction I got was what I was going to get. Once triggered, virtue signalers have NO sense of humor or sense of proportion/perspective.

A post to draw out two possible reactions a dude may have to bashing women who stand up.
There's dude #1 who needs a liberal strawlady to hate because they've been crushed against the boards by a wife, an ex-wife or a female boss. The wrath I've seen on the jobsite over the years for the likes of Jane, Hillary, Nancy, Elizabeth, and AOC is almost universally by this once scorn dude.
Then there's dude #2 who has been raised by a strong, single mom who can see what drives dude #1 by casual observance.

Most of the haters have been booted in the last couple of years. If I were to guess, about 10 or so of MB's buddies on the right and Craig. For a while there, MB actually resorted to positive, short relaxed posts but this smacks of a relapse of sorts. Next up- An adrenaline spike resulting in a 1,000 word essay, penned out of a gleefull agitation followed by a hollow threat of self imposed exile- repeat-repeat-repeat..
Thing is, this is an internet stick and MB is most likely a good guy. I can't help but oblige his needs though.

In a shocking Instagram post today, MB1 revealed that "he" was born a biological woman but always identified as a male. Supertopo provided a venue in which "he" felt comfortable to transition, and "he" has posted the part ever since, earning much better cliffs cred since the transition. MB1 stated that "he" doesn't intend to do the surgical route, stating that "he" thinks that he looks pretty good for a woman as it is, plus on the internet nobody knows what you really look like. His pictures are actually taken from his neighbors slide collection and digitally altered to appear more contemporary.
Who would have guessed?

I was put off by the pronouns in quotes, which to me indicated subtext connotations. I appreciate wit and irony, but I had difficulty finding either. Wit might have exposed insights (I would have thought) about the subject of the post. Instead, it seems to have exposed insights about the writer and readers.
Claiming that literal meanings (denotations) of words are inoffensive misses social meaning that all language communicates. It's a higher level or reading and writing.
