Challange ended Friday, Feb 9th at which time four participants (myself, Ray, Nature & Timbo) all had to weigh out in a casino in Vegas.
Sorry for the delay - results were being confirmed through last night. 17 players in this "event" of which most of us met and exceeded the goal of losing 10 pounds. Congratulations to all who lost anything as that was the true goal.
Biggest Winner - Janiec Gutierrez loses a whopping 15 pounds. Those of you who have met her are likely amazed she had 15 to lose. What a tubby!! Incidentally, she was the only person who bet that she would lose the most amount of weight - sweeping the field and taking in the side pot of $26.00!!
Other winners
Susan - 12
Russ - 13
Nature - 10
Debora - 12
Justina - 11.5
Sandy - 11

Just to let you know... i would have won, not by choice. Since January 28th to Feb 8th I lost 18 pounds. I didn't do anything besides sit on my ass. Being hurt sucks... i can only imagine how much power I've lost. Oh well being light will be good for my shoulder when I get back to climbing.

"Mooch $2" - Right on, Susan! That was totally a suckers bet. Mooch doesn't have 10lbs to lose. Good job!
Kate, kate, kate... *sigh* You were going strong! Did you run into a Denny's somewhere along the way?

Ray? bwaahahahaa!
I was -11 BTW. I was so scared that gravity would have a different effect on me at a lower elevation.

I've been all over the map.
When I started this challenge I was 162. I guess I ended up at 151 after the challenge.
After Ms. Summit passed I didn't take very good care of myself and ballooned up to 176. Pants quit fitting, blubber rolled over my belt line. Ugly.
Then I went on the India/Thailand diet. I was sick 4 different times on that trip. I came back and weighed 156 - lost 20 lbs in four months. I was super thin but still had good muscle ton.
This is just after I got back.
And then I remembered in America the beer is good. Plus I added more muscle and probably went up to 165.
I'm at 162 right now and though I could drop a few pounds if I tried clearly anything below 156 is too much. So hovering around 160 at my age is probably pretty good. I'll be 46 in two days.
I'm 6'0" btw...
I think what happened is through my yoga practice the last few years my core strength has increased. I've developed a lot of lean abdominal muscle.
I will say that one of the tricks to keeping the blubber off is I don't buy snacks at the store. No coconut ice cream, or cookies, or anything sweet. I eat a good meal in the evening and usually that's it. OK... yes locker.... popcorn.

I'm not sure if 07 was the year I was in (08 maybe?) but yes. It fluctuates some but my highs are a solid 10# below my all time high

I've gone on the anti-iflamatory diet(I have RA) and lost 22 lbs so far. From 187 to 165. I want to get to 150, I'm 58 and 5'9". It's gonna happen.

My best diet ever: Spent 3 days and 2 nights up around Lone Pine Peak, forgot to bring food. Lost 20 lbs in a weekend. Took almost 3 weeks to get it back.

^^Funny...I spent a couple of nights there and remembered (dehydrated) food but forgot a lighter with fuel in it. Sadly, I didn't drop enough weight to notice it.

Nature it has taken about a month. I cut out pretty much everything that was making me gain. Soda, refined sugar, wheat, corn. I eat a lot of fish for protien, no dairy. I drink a ton of water. A lot of brown rice, salad, fruit. I'm feeling strong and looking forward to the fall with a keen eye on some of the routes I once strolled and are now a challenge.
