Any new updates? NOAA shows highs in the 60's and lows in the 40's. Has the west side seen the precipitation that the east side is getting?

Couple of inches of wet glop in Mammoth while we got about 2 tenths an inch of rain on the Westside at 5300 feet.

I really appreciate the pictures. We aren't taking trailers, just our trucks. That looks manageable without issue.

That first picture looks like it's worsened than when it ate up my bumper last weekend. My Forester has exactly 8.5" of clearance...so anyone else going there be wary.
Randy - any chance you guys could throw down something that would serve as a crossing? I will pitch in on it.

I think a couple of 2x4's probably wouldn't even need reinforcement to provide a crossing. We could even stash 'em on the side so they don't get washed out if rain/runoff worsens.

tacetman,
What would you want thrown down? Throwing down some dead small trees would probably make it harder for smaller vehicles to get in.

Crap. I'm sorry. That came out wrong. I can lug my own crap up there to get across the creek...but my off-roading experience is limited and the road was not as bad last Fall when I was up there. Do you think if I lay down some 4x8's across the stretch that it will hold a vehicle?

The road that comes up from Minarets to get into Big Sleep. I'll see if John and Sue are chatting up road conditions on the SoYo site.

What are the local climbing conditions? Snow approaches? wet? Or?
I assume no pons, ice axe, or spring boots needed for approaches?
The muddied roads look promising and the high 60's forecast looks good.

The conditions are good. There is some snow in the shade and the base of the climbs. The walk off for Big Sleep will be wet but you could also rap afternoon nap.
Have fun, temps will be perfect.
