Speaking of Barney, I used to work at The Red Barn just below El Cerrito Hill (an oxymoronic name, since cerrito means little hill in Espagnol), near Galen Rowell's old garage on San Pablo Ave., the East Bay equivalent of El Camino Real on the SF Peninsula.
Our main menu item was the Big Barney, a knock-off of the Big Mac, which was located just south of our "store." The McDonald's managers all call it a store, and the burgers are all "sandwiches." So corporate-speak goes. So literal, and yet they are fronted by a clown!
I'm willing to bet that the late Michael Jackson never had a Big Barney in his short life. Too bad, because they were just the same as a Big Mac, except the sauce was different. They, too, contained two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles & onions all on a sesame bun.
I got tired of red, but cannot bring myself to hate the color red.
