Those are awesome shots, Ed, really paint the mood of the place in weather....
Here is one more C4 parking lot shot...
and here's one for the memories... the yearly ranger-climber softball game... can't say when this was taken, perhaps 72?

Hey George, is that my VW station wagon? The guy on the right looks like Erickson? Or Higbee? Embarrassing not to remember.
Rik Rieder squating. I recognize the fellow with red sweater and cap but cannot place him. Same for the guitar player. I don't recongnize the guy in the red shirt. Must have been 1973.

Hey Roger. Yes, left to right is you and your VW, Ajax Greene I think, Rik Reider, Rick Hatch, Jardine with guitar, and Jim Erickson.
Sorry for the excessively fuzzy game photo, but Seneka at bat?

I still have most of that pile of gear. Rik looks like he is inspecting it like he's afraid to touch it.
How about more on the ranger/climber baseball game? Cool idea.

It needs to be mentioned here that the party responsible for Camp 4 being listed on the National Register of Historic Places is none other than Tom Frost with considerable assistance from Pat Ament, John Middendorf and Dick Duane, Tom's lawyer. Without Tom's vision and commitment to conservation this magical place would be home to dormitory structures rather than tents.
I wonder how the blackhearts at Delaware North are able to claim the rights to named entities already on the National Register???
