Sorry not to be there today, but it wasn't supposed to happen, according to the guidelines you've set out, Ken.
Hope there are good things to report!

Jerry Gallwas has been and continues to be negotiating for a good space in the Valley and has garnered some good support. I would hope that a museum in Mariposa would not be used by administration to discourage one in the Valley.
I'd love to be at the meeting, but it's a long commute.

Very recently, we've had some movement on this idea:
Ken Yager has become more optimistic recently about the prospects for a Museum in YV.
The Mariposa Museum and History Center is organizing a “Yosemite Climbing History” exhibition which will include artifacts, photographs, a time-line, and a series of speakers on various aspects of Yosemite’s climbing history. The opening of the exhibition will be on Friday, April 5th with a “Ribbon-Cutting” at 6:00 p.m., followed by a slide show by Ken Boche of the first ascent of the Psychedelic Wall which he climbed in 1966. Our thought is that the forums would be held on Friday nights during the spring, at least, climbing season and timed such that climbers coming to Yosemite for the weekend could cruise through Mariposa for a rest stop, food, and some climbing history before continuing on toward Yosemite for the weekend.
The exhibition will continue at least through June, and pioneering climbers, Glen Denny, Ken Yager, Gary Colliver, and others will be making their own presentations over the course of the spring. If you have a compelling Yosemite climbing story that you would like to tell, or questions or other information, please post here. We are also considering moving each Friday program to different venues in this area. The Museum’s director, Miranda, is not only a climber, but she and her climber husband, Josh, are also my next door neighbors. I expect she and Josh will post up here soon; meanwhile, her contact information is: mirandaf@mariposamuseum.com.
