Nobody cares if you Tele Them's fightin' words.
I'm gonna kick yer arse.

The tele skiers in this video aren't very good, but it's a decent video anyway.
They gotta learn to ski in the fall line and quit the typical tele traversing crap.

Locker, that tele looks seriously modded. Bridge humbucker? Sounds like a telecaster with an inferiority complex wishing that Les Paul was its daddy.
Now this is a tele:

I care.
Jim,Harry ,I agree. The vid I posted shows the dude skiing fast GS style turns ,which is one thing I really enjoy .
Bombing groomers or cols, with few turns ,is something.
Skiing tight trees is another.

That's why AT gear now rules.
Dunno, climbing on AT gear hurts my feet, I need my foot to flex.
Classic Telemark skiing died with the introduction of plastic tele boots. After that, what was the point in free heels if you could parallel turn your ass out of a jam when needed due to plastc bellowed technology ? Something about the floppy binding and plastic boots makes it a lot easier for me to ski. I parallel 95% of the time on tele gear, but put me in alpine (or locked-down AT gear) and I can't do sh#t.
The lack of control with tele gear gives me more control. Dunno why. I could never ski this sh#t on alpine gear, but I shred on floppy cable bindings and leather boots.
I fuking love tele. More than any other sport. Even climbing.

BITD a local athlete was crowned the “Bo of Snow” for winning a combined Alpine, Tele, Snowboard competition up at Whistler. To master all 3 disciplines on an international venue is impressive!
Despite the animosity between the Alpine and the Snowboarders at the time, I was moved to learn snowboarding – especially with the addition of our newborn son (who ended up preferring skis anyway).
Loved the Nordic, but just couldn't seem to get the Tele turn wired. There's guys out there who skate ski the frontcountry in the spring, right at dawn, when all is frozen. Witness their tracks on the unplowed Tioga Pass, coming in from the east gate. Quite possible to do a Trans-Sierra,via Snow Creek descent into the Valley, in a day. With nothing more than some sunscreen, and a CC for the room you've reserved at the Ahwahnee – right?
So, it's randanee FTTB (French for “can't Tele”). But I've logged quite a few 5,000 foot days on the olde Tua “S Capes” metal edged waxless skinnys with NNN bindings and light leather boots. Really super fast on the upski, the gear is so light.
But a midwinter descent in “legbreaker crust” usually results in a bodyslam fest.
Honestly, a “tele” setup with plastic boot shells, wyde alpine skis, cable bindings weighs as much as AT gear.
That's what we're talking about. Randanee, that is.
Incidentally, the wye chutes to the climber's right have been brought forward as a skier's target as well, but the consensus holds that it's all talk at this point. John Mendleson climbing route, which he modestly graded Class 3 - he graded his direct E. Couloir over on Mt. Laurel across the Lake Class 2. This one has been skiied...not likely to get bumped out anytime soon.
I'd been introduced to a skier of Canadian extraction, who held to a burning desire to ski one of the westerly Mt. Morrison wye chutes as, I gathered, was a fairly recent objective, assuming complusive attraction.
He'd already gone and upskied to a recon Bivi in the Hanging Valley, evidently.
He also mentioned that his divorce proceedings were finally nearing their resolution. Mentioned that he wanted to take his skiing to a new and higher level.
So things promised to be exciting - until I remembered I had already committed myself to some very important "Honey Dew" projects around the Lazy 8 Ranch - washing the car had become the priority.
