You'll note none of our big time scientists post their original theories here. Does that mean something to you.....No original manuscripts, tho we do have original nudes, routes and nuns posted here. *see Dean, climbers and locker. * hehehe

Hey I feel just awful about my ethically dodgy resurrection of the
Southern Yosemite thread.
Terrible.
Trouble sleeping, even.
Every time I see some glorious photo of Shuteye I feel like total crap.
And so should you all, you're accessories after the fact.
Should have let that thread die years ago, right?

Too late scuffy b, I'll be at Shuteye in four days......plan to sing it's praises to the heavens in the hope that I can generate Joshua Tree/Red Rocks type crowding.

MooseDrool, caught in the act of transubstantiating donini's assertions,
which in turn seem to buttress MooseDrool's un-convincing statement, but which are not worth the product of said transubstantiantion.

It's a sign from Ouray!

Lol.. Obviously i think it's ok.. Because i did it to you. After you deleted a conversation i thought was worthy and spent time posting to.

Once you put an idea out there, it's in the common thought process and whether or not you like it, people will talk about it.

Deleting threads is lame. People don't like it when you delete their contributions. Either stop doing it or people will take measures to continue the conversation without you.

Ethics on the Internet I'm not sure I know what that is. Delete your account and now I think all of your materials you put on the site go as well.

I am of the opinion to just post everything and then no one pays attention especially if it is related to climbing.

A thread is like a butterfly, if you set it free and it come back. it's your's, and if it doesn't... hunt it down and kill it!

Oh, sorry, I thought it said "ethnomethodological".

I would ask Professor Garfinkel who could definitely answer this one and perhaps the original posed in the thread title. However, he is dead. Anyway his answers always tended to be very wordy and I fear that no one would read either.

Which leads naturally to Hunter Thompson? Sorry, dead too and he would likely have read "ether".

Resurrecting someone else's thread: is it ethical?. I don't think it is? What's your view?

You put it out there on the web. It is no longer yours. This is the problem with the stupid caressed youth of today. Go cry to your mother or something.

If you don't want something repeated, DON'T F*#KING POST IT ON THE INTERNET, and then whine when someone brings it back up.

Stupid!

I agree.
Which is not what I would often say to her.
But I surely respect her verve.

And dammit Avery, if you want to be so dramatic, get some thicker skin and a broader sense of humor. I have started very few threads that went the way I wanted, but it didn't prevent me from enjoying them anyway. Something Jstan once said about tolerance for uncertainty, I can't remember... and some other crap about tolerance to be misunderstood....
