Me too!
Born that way.
I used to feel guilty for the kids the teacher in 3rd grade was blessing out in front of the whole class, even though I had not done anything.
It was empathy guilt I guess.
How's the trail day plan going?

Dirtineye,
Things are coming together. I went to town today and purchased a shade tent, tables, and other supplies needed for the event. I am going to be able to do the whole five day Facelift including two showings of the Reel Rock Film Tour for about $3,000.00. The great thing is that most of what I have purchased we will be able to use for future Facelifts. I have been scoring some real nice raffle prizes.

So you'll be way ahead next year then, that's great.
I hope you get a lot of folks for this.

Dirtineye,
I think the turnout will be good but, you never know. I sure hope so. I have put a lot of work into it. I started getting it together in February and have spent every spare moment on it seven days a week for the last three months.

Got any speakers lined up Ken?
I did one of these things a few years ago, and had the snake doc for Alabama give a talk, it was a big hit.
We did a lot of stuff for Moss Rock Preserve in Hoover, and all sorts of groups came to help, and you are right about the amount of work, the city forester and I worked on it every day for the whole summer pretty much, in addition to other people who put in a lot of effort.
The SCC got an award from the Access fund for that one.
I bet you'll get one of those for this.
Good luck with it!

Thanks Dirtineye,
Lincoln and I won an Access Fund award for last years event, though that is not why I do it. I do have 2 nights of the REEL ROCK Film Tour lined up. One is on the 28th in El Portal and the other is on the 29th in the Valley. Klem Loskot will be there with a book signing and I heard that Tommy and Beth will be at the shows too. Otherwise, people will just have to listen to me, Oh well. I tried to get Timmy Oneil to show up but, he is a busy guy and can't make it.

I'm hoping to be there for the 26th & 27th, anyway. Will know soon. We had 42 out at Squamish last Saturday to do trail work - despite rain.
Matt S - You climbed in the Valley in the last century. I climbed there in the last millenium. So there! (I also climbed at Squamish when pterodactyls still nested on the Chief, and the Smoke Bluffs were bubbling magma.)

I have lined up the materials to remove the paint from the Gunsight. Anyone have experience with this stuff and would you like to take on the project?

Ken, (my second post, I'm almost giddy!)
You might not need another "attaboy, "great job").
But damn son, you are kicking ass and taking names. Thank you for stepping up on so many levels. The muesem, the work, the effort on your part.
The great and amazing pictures you've posted on this site.
Love it: thanks so much.

I can't make it Ken, for obvious reasons (I know I just live up the road, but my 747 is in the shop and I loaned out my Learjet), but I hope it is a success.

Thanks for all the encouragement and thank you to all that are showing up and going to make this thing happen. Those that can't make it this year I hope you can next year. This thing is here to stay and seems to double every year. You are all awesome!

Unfortunately, if you go poking around in the woods near every turnout, this is what it looks like.
Hope you can help with this mess.
