This was the last weekend of World Wide Kite Aerial Photography Week 2014 ( WWKW ). It's the week everybody who's into this makes an effort to get a photo of something.

https://www.flickr.com/groups/wwkapweekend/pool/

Europe, Asia, South America, and Australia checked in. The U.S. made a decent showing, with the West Coast ( WA, OR, NorCal and SoCal ), East Coast, The Rocky Mountains, The Great Lakes, Hawaii, and Midwest all on the board.

After swinging for the fences, and striking out all week, from the desert to the sea, to all of Southern California, yesterday evening I figured I'd better bunt for a base hit. So I took the KAP gear with me when I ran the dogs last night.

I think the whole site was down for about an hour or so, Dean.

Actually, it was down for about 48 hours (?). Server upgrade or some such.

Some have left and have yet to return. Utter devastation occurred.

We're pretty much over it now, though.

I was out taking photos...

like this one

this is a much reduced image of the whole pano (which is 1.3 GB)

there are three parties, two on Astroman and one on The Prow (or maybe Reanimator).

I have a couple of other pano's: the left side of Glacier Point Apron and Royal Arches (including Washington Column) but it will take a bit of time to process them...

I surprised Jefe for his birthday at the trail head on The Lemmon...Spent an amazing day surrounded by dancing Aspen leaves and breezy low temps....a perfectly peaceful weekend.

Since you asked. I put walls on my dump trailer complete with reclaimed redwood trim. I stained the cabinet niche on the gypsy caravan. I also enjoyed two climbing outings. First a hike to Donner Peak for Truckee's most scenic and cruiser bouldering. Yesterday, I fixed a line for some solo top roping. I even managed to get my bike out and running and spend some time at the beach with the pooch.

I lurked behind the fence by my neighbors yard for the two days and occasionally hurled random obscenities and insults at him. It made me feel so superior. Is that normal?

I checked my phone every 5 minutes to see if the site was back up.
From the backcountry, on route, while hiking, periodically throughout the night....

I love these posts!

I didn't notice ST was offline...

I myself attended two parties this weekend with the kiddo. My kid rocked and we do damage control. :D Plus I did the usual of keeping the mess under control, errands, working on the remodel, etc.
