Ron, can you find a single example of where I've made anything remotely resembling these kinds of violent threats towards you? If you do, I'll gladly retract & apologize for them.
And can someone please provide with the technical or legal definition of 'stalking'? He clearly seems confused between stoooopid internet banter & actually mining the internet for personal information, and posting it in public places.

I think we should all do our part to help Defend John & Zach from Ron, they are obviously not safe & since he has threatened to "visit them" & "have a good time" & outed their anonymous safety blankets- we all need to crank up our serious knobs a little higher & make sure this thread hits 200 posts by noon so that Cmac will pay attention to this very important issue. I'm sure that's really what he's into right now.

Funny how some of you who use your real names as your avatar wave this around like you follow some higher ethical standard....
...yet you only seem to really rip on those who don't share your views, or don't think you are worth the 'admiration' others bestow on you....
...and you seemingly find a person who uses their real name to be worthy of the same ethical position when they make regular physical threats towards others, stalk personal information on the internet & post it, and use copyrighted imagery for their own stalking purposes...
Some of you have some pretty weird ethical standards. Might want to deal with that.

Jeebs, that's not really the point.
The point is that making physical threats, and making true, legally-defined efforts to stalk personal information and post it with the intent of 'outing' someone with vindictive intent is about as f*#king low as one can get.

Jstan, I think any internet "discussion" sooner or later contains words that form a literal threat. More often, they descend into unimaginative insult-fests. Even something as staid as academic climate studies has people saying they want to beat up others physically, and even worse, actually carrying out that most vicious of actions -- lawsuits.
Do we really want or need that here? While maybe a "zero tolerance" policy about threatening physical violence could be enforced, I doubt its benefits would exceed its costs.
I greatly value the presence of Apogee, Ron and Coz, to name three, on this forum, but I wish they'd have enough self-confidence to escape the need to have the last word. Beyond that, I doubt that more moderation, whether external or internal, would help.
