Gosh damn it! Had some great times over 30+ years! Yosemite, Josh, bouldering, bikes and just great company. I am heartbroken and shocked. Too many friends recently. He was a great friend and even greater person. RIP my friend. Condolences to his family and friends.
Peace

RIP Pat. A really nice guy. Fond memories of Pat at Suicide, Rainbow boulders, Yosemite and at Shawn's house in Huntington Beach floating through my head. You will be missed, wish we had got to talk one last time.

Thought about calling you Nick, but didn't want to break the news to you today! We both had some good times with Pat. I remember that day in El Cap meadow in the shot above.
Peace

Life. Sometimes so resilient and other times so fragile. We remember you, Pat Nay, all the good times.
Another reminder for all of us to live today to the fullest, love the ones we love and forgive the ones we are not at peace with.

This has just ripped me up. I didn't really "know" Pat like so many iof you but a few years ago we chatted after one of his beloved dogs died, then off and on about cycling, and then about cancer. I'm angry, hurt, so deeply saddened, and just plain confused.
This was supposed to have a happy ending....this was to to be the story of a survivor.
Now he survives through those that loved him.
To you that knew him in daily life, I ache for your profound loss.
Walter and Pat reunited.

This came as a total shock. I just talked with Pat shortly after his surgery. He said his prognosis was good.
So many of our friends have passed away recently. Who ever thought any of us would make it this far, only to fall to cancer, or a heart attack?

F*#king sucks
Been thirty years but I remember him as a polite positive dude. The few times I met him he was friendly and seemed an all around liked guy. Sucks to lose people, especially like him.

Terrible and very sad news. Thought he had squeaked by the big C and now this.
I'll never forget the truck loads of firewood he would bring to Josh, and the massive bonfires that scared the rest of Hidden Valley campground and the rangers.
RIP

I only knew him online, but he was always kind to me and seemed to always take the high road in discussions here. He also seemed like one of the fittest guys here, so I was really shocked to read the news. His presence will be missed. My condolences to all of his close friends and family.
