ok, I'll put this up in my priority bin...
...as for Playboy, I don't think any cover of that magazine ever motivated me to go out and do the things I did because of the covers of Mountain, Ascent, Climbing and Summit. Probably some deviant gene.

yeah, the graphic layouts for the '70's issues of mountain were as clean as they come. ken wilson took his cues from ascent, which pioneered mountain's "look". ken wilson, alan steck, and roper are unsung geniuses of climbing periodical graphics. they rocked.
