We're talking 500 year flood event.

It's pretty insane out there. I'm on the third floor or an apartment that is on high ground.

I rode my bike down to 13th and Canyon and followed the trails up to the mouth of boulder canyon.

we have another day and a half of this.

The water is still rising.....

I've always enjoyed a good natural disaster on occasion. Nonetheless, I hope everyone stays safe and well.

This is one of those events that hits close to home, given the fact that I know a few thousand people that live there.

Longmont is flooded out and evacuated in places also.

It seems I returned here from Wyoming just in time yesterday after driving through Okinawa style rain and ground fog that reminded me of San Francisco.
You know it's bad when Wyoming drivers slow down to 50 on the interstate!

Evidently the trains have also stopped running north-south along the front range.

So of course the question is how high on the flood marker is the water right now?

So, other than being potentially displaced when the landlord replaces our carpet, the only casualty seems to be my laptop, which has water in the screen even though it was on a windowsill 4' above the floor. It's working now, any suggestions on how to back up 8 GB of pics from our road trip without any discs?

This is the first time I can ever recall the National Weather Service using the word "Biblical" in terms of a rain system:

UPDATE...MAJOR FLOODING/FLASH FLOODING EVENT UNDERWAY AT THIS
TIME WITH BIBLICAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS REPORTED IN MANY AREAS IN/NEAR
THE FOOTHILLS. PRECIPITABLE WATER VALUES IN EXCESS OF AN INCH AND
A QUARTER ON GPS SENSORS CERTAINLY SUPPORT LOTS MORE RAIN TODAY

AND TONIGHT. http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&issuedby=BOU&product=AFD&format=CI&version=1&glossary=1

Hoping for the best for all you guys in Boulder County. This flooding sounds epic.

USB Flash Drive - very cheap and easy to find 8GB and larger.

Thanks TWisted! Wanted to snag a full res copy to pass along to my FiL so he could dig into where the G-uncle falls on the floodplain.

"Biblical"? They really said that? OMG!

We got juiced here pretty good too. 4", and nearly all at once.
Some places got more than half a year's rain.

Never get out of the boat!

Biblical

The government just stated its position on the existence of God.

I didn't believe it at first, but sure enough. Pretty astounding, Fluoride.

The government just stated its position on the existence of God.

...or an employee of the Dept. of Commerce just stated their position on the existence of the Bible.
