Pretty easy, actually. I jot my climbing daze down on a calendar. Helps to sort photo's later is how it started. And, figure out who was in the pic's.

Easier than an arguement about fish on the taco...ha ha...

No climbing today...X-Country Skiing instead. Ouray Ice Park opened today, may go tomorrow but I won't count that as climbing.

I keep a climbing journal so keeping track of days is easy. only 91 so far. supposed to hit the ice tomorrow so we are stil counting. Work and injuries kept my numbers low again this year.
12 FA's. a record for me. Wild how some of you have such a high ratio of FA's per days out.. One of my fa's took six days to complete 2 pitches. several others took at least 4 days.. if it's GU i can often get to the top in one day but getting the FFA may take a few more days of effort.

A top down effort that took at least 5 days of work for me to be satisfied that it was time to place the last 3 bolts and send. some of the the finished products..

2012: Year of Recovery

've got 9 days & 13 climbs this year post-injury.

In 2011 I got a total of 52 days & 110 climbs while the later 73 climbs were done in 34 days prior injury (including Matthess, Cathedral, Fairview, Royal Arches, Tenaya my first free-solo, Higher Cathedral Spire... ) As a noob, that's more than I could ask for, and I was very, very happy (still am!!) :D

2013: Year of Rebound & Possibilities
Hoping to come close to 2011, or more!

Yeah, keeping track sounds like work to me.

What doesn't sound like work is sitting here trying to remember (not recorded) all the crags I climbed at in 2012:

Red River Gorge, Smuggler's Gulch VT, Rumney, Vegas, SoUT Slimestone, Flagstaff, Joe's Valley, Moe's Valley, American Fork, Maple, Uintas, RMNP, Mt. Evans, Independence Pass, Little Cottonwood, Castle Rock SP, all around Tahoe, Toolallame, Bishop/Mammoth area... hmmm, seems like there was more

if it means anything to you, write it down someplace... and keep track...

I still have missing climbs out there...

Only about 30 days on rock - but a highlight of the Red Dihedral. It is so soggy here, we wanted to be logging some quality time in the spring but Mother Nature wasn't cooperating. We also have to make trips with Dad a priority as he is not going to be able to travel much very soon. Probably got in another 20 mountaineering days. The skiing was great, so I have about 40 days of lift or human powered skiing in during 2012. That doesn't include all the training or mission time with the mountain rescue team. We passed our snow rescue reaccreditation exam in May which also delayed the start of rock season.

That's a decent amount of time outside, not at home. The unruly yard is evidence of that.

I am hoping for more like 40 - 60 days next year. That is largely depemdent on when spring comes and who comes to visit - climbers or sightseers...

I think I can figure this out....

Spring - um, oh geez, will have to dig out my notes. Too much work. I should climb more often, but somehow I manage to get up my objectives anyway! Ask me tomorrow, my brain is margarita-muddled. And I only had one!

Geez..............
