Fort Cartoon was pretty much my low point. After ETS I never entertained the thought of moving to Co Springs.Bozeman for fifteen then Bishop for comin' up on fifteen. Both good spots but Bozeman is getting a little crowded for my taste.I was also born there so needed a change as well.Anyway, just had to chime in at the mention of Fort Carson. If you have any questions about said places,go ahead and shoot.

Michell passes with flying colors.
Smart girl.
Knucklehead Anders fails miserably.
Tunnel vision is a state of mind and has nothing to do with going anywhere .....

Hey, you're the one who lives in (sort of) a tunnel.
See you in a month. Need anything from the Great White North? Maple syrup always seems in demand.

Aussieland - the Barrier Reef - Queensland - Port Douglas, Cairnes
Lotsa good surface snorkeling and diving. A great rainforest, complete with a high-wire trip through the top of the trees.
Move into a house up on stilts - keeps the saltwater crocs from calling in the middle of the night. Stay out of the billabong river pools. And watch out for 20-foot crocs coming out of the ocean if you camp on the beach.
Great fun.

Best things about Reno itself, the Truckee River.
Nearby ... Good climbing and great skiing within an hour drive.
Yos Valley is a 4hr drive. 5 in winter.
The whole western US is within a Day drive. Zion, Tetons, Ranier, JTree, Pacific Coast,
Drawbacks. It is not Yosemite, Zion, The pacific coast, etc...

That's ok, its not even mine. It's not really a gun, either, as it was used for route setting that day.

I thought it was where would you go??? Not what would you bring. Michelle, I love beer and climbing gear, but a shotgun? I once was paid to use weapons of destruction (meant to kill people), U.S. Army veteran, But there is no lingering fascination. Werner ? You think killing weapons are cool? To pose with fake hero style? Contrary? If so ......move to the concrete jungle....good buildering, crime, cops, guns used on people more than hunting food.
OK Seriously. Kamchatka.

so, wow, time to schedule an appointment. would you like the number? For Palo Alto, its 1-650-493-5000. If you're not from the area, I'm sure you can ask then to give you a better number.
do not derail a lighthearted thread with your political bullsh#t. I'm a Vet, I love the environment and drive a Ford f*#king truck and have a twisted up sense of humor. call your vet rep. get therapy. I have.

You would fit right in here in Reno.
I already have a shotgun like that but I am jealous of the FISH beer cozy.
I gotta get one of those.

You must be friends with B. Law. The fish dealy belongs to klaus which I promised to return (since I "borrowed" it) when I locate it in storage. I do keep on leaning on Reno. I like 395.

Wbraun is absolutely right - tunnel-vision has nothing to do about going somewhere. Immobility is one of the options. ;o)
Mighty Hiker says: "Yeah, I've heard there are a few people here who hardly ever leave the Valley, or climb anywhere else."
Comment:
I have heard that there are ten people in this world who never move from the place where they are sitting, not even when they are zenybopping on ST...

You want Sunland/Tujunga: Right near the mountains, lots of gophers for your cats, big shooting range within earshot (they have a 50mm you can shoot for $10) great view of the mountains, plus there's all the benefits of the city, the Philharmonic, the Museum of art, the Tar pits.

Ouray, Co. Nice group of climbers....Good sport climbing to stay in shape, close to Indian Creek, Desert Towers, Rifle and the Black Canyon. Striking distance from Red Rocks, Tetons, Wind Rivers, Sedona, Front Range...... etc. Then there is the Ice Park and great backcountry skiing.
