werner -- did it in three tries over an hour or so. second try i got both feet over the roof, then pitched while trying to get something in and pretty much got stopped a foot or two off the ground. at the time i was leading with an 8.8 mm rope, which was nice -- like trailing a kite string -- but the rope stretch was a bitch....

Wow bvb and that sucker is so hard too.
I tried it once and failed because I knew I was going to hurt a tendon in one of my fingers. (lame excuse, but it kept me injury free)
Nice wall in the photo above.

Awww Bob, you posted a pic of my happy place. Here's another shot, one of the warm up routes rather than that pesky Riddler you were wrestling with. A week from tomorrow we start up the Wednesday evening climbing parties, I love daylight savings time.

Have a somewhat elusive Woodson image with climber taking the elevator down. Would you like to guess the formation/climb fellow Mussy Nebulies?
Edit: It was quiet for so long then OffWhite posts up just before I do while I'm in the composition room. What are the chances????
OW-- So said crag is just a few minutes from your front door? How many routes on said crag, and about how large is the crag? Looks nice.

Loomis, so you know the Dynamic Duo?
You'll probably recognize their planet, so many light years from the Mussy Nebula:

Roy, we’re in SoCal at the moment. I consider CZ to be my home now, liked living there very much :-)
The boulders are off Hwy. 395 near Ridgecrest, am driving up there a lot to do new problems. There are literally thousands of boulders at this place. When I get my scanner hooked up I’ll post some shots of Mike, Mari, Bachar and Carpenter (Dave) bouldering near there, like 22 years ago.
Speaking of Dave, I have looked through all the threads of nick names, did not see his, Bearahmiah or some other spelling?

OK, Nebulies. How well do you know Woodson? Can you peg this climb from only a few dark clues? Can you pick out the climb back-lit to the left of Tim Umstead rapping after sending said climb barefoot. Hints: It is slightly overhung. Does that rock and tree in the background look familiar?
Photo by GHS/Realm of Light, 1978?
Loomis--
I think I know the area you are speaking of. You can see the boulders from 395 as you cruz by and there are many mines in the area. By the way, many (I mean MANY) good Rock & Mineral collecting locations nearby also :-))

Klimmer, it's ironic, the boulders above are in the area called the "mines" ;-)
(you can see some tailings in the uper right margin of the photo)

hmmmm. woodson pic upstream -- cueing off the rock in the background, it's either the test tube or that ricky accommazzo 5.11c face route, just down hill from big grunt, the name escapes me at the moment....it looks an awful lot like the summit, with those big trees. test tube?
nah, i think it's that accomazzo thing just down from big grunt -- barn-door starter move off a cheatstone to nail a big jug, then power laybacks of tiny edges to a dicey dimes topout: "Go With The Flow."

Scott L,
So you are not exactly Talking Wagon Wheel upthread, but similar?
Carpenter is here in Boulder.
I could try to hook him up/clue him in.
Your high country mantle, looks like 3rd pillar in thhe background, but I may need to photo shop the background...

Tarbuster, this is all the stuff to the west of Wagon Wheel, here's a link to some of the problems there: http://home.earthlink.net/~bouldering/
Your guess on the mantle yielded the wrong place/state.
Hint: you recently posted a photo of you on the approach/descent? from a climb that would take you right by this problem.
Say hello to Mr. Carpenter for me :-)

bvb--
You are so close, if it was a snake it would bite chya!
How can it be "Go with the Flow?" Since when does the sun set to the North?
Come-on finish er.
Edit: think more to the right slightly. You were so close and then you went so far away.
OW--
Very nice shots. Looks like a quality crag. Does it ever freeze enough to climb any ice on said crag in the winter?
