Ummm, yeah. If you don't know that, though, you'd draw the same conclusion as Hawkeye.

What was the change of tone?
It still seems like sarcastic slams to me. Maybe I'm just reading you wrong when you title your thread After Six Aided By Plaidman. How am I supposed to take that after your comments on the other thread? Like you're all a dick one moment and now you're all supportive all of a sudden?
Save the hard line for the big boys spraying about the way they did something.
So yeah, really.
Am I reading you wrong? You're saying you had a change of heart from one thread to the next like that? Especially after the way you titled this thread. I'm not fooled.
If you dislike this site so much, take it somewhere else bro.

hahaha ya I give up,,, seriously you guys are still supporting this guy who called yosar to tell them they where okay on snake dike because they got benighted because the made the mistake of starting too late (it took them 12.5 hours get there because they roped up on the approach) when obviously their skill level was way too inadequate for said route,,, keep holding his hand and telling him thats cool
after this im done and will stop posting,,,
like i said before, the psych is awesome and i love that, but the blatant disregard of skill necessary to the saftey of you and your partner is gross
so plaid i would like to leave you with some advice since i guess no one else here has the balls,,, keep the psyche going, it will get you very far,,, but dont let it get you into situations like that on half dome again, it sounds like you where a bit in over your head, your lucky your call to yosar was to tell them you where okay as it sounds like it could have very nearly been the other way around,,, and next time YOSAR couldnt give a sh#t if you where okay, if you had spent any previous time in the valley you would notice lights all over the walls after sunset,,, nothing new dont clog an emergency line and waste tax dollars,,, really work on honing your skills instead of trying to film your every move to share to the world,,, if i was on yosar and had to rescue some guys who got benighted because they had to spend and extra 3 hours filming every more, that would be negligence on your part and ya just might wind up paying for it,,, so keep on trucking,,, but please play safe!!!
cheers

So,...I know Plaidman...good dude. But I want to spend a moments on a few other things first. My son...he just learned to climb about a year ago. I'd taken him out as a pup and he didn't jib with it, but he might have been @ 4 then. Anyway, he's a junior in college now, he comes back and we are going to go do a few ski runs in the winter. As we are driving up, he asks me if I've ever climbed at Salmon River Slabs...seems he and a few buds had done some laps. I've been climbing @ 38 years at that point, but no, I say, I'd never even seen the spot. His eyebrows arch, and as the road is totally iced over and I've been considering turning around to go home rather than either chain up or die by sliding off of it, he suggests a quick visit to this climbing "crag".
It's too frikkan icy (lol, I've done a lot of long ice and snow routes but in a car it's almost to sick to consider and I want to head back LOL) but the lad convinces me that I need to see this spot and it's real close. I ask "How many routes are there", and he says "like 6 or 7", so off we go. Now, I really don't like bolted routes, and that's what these are. Off we go down the icy road anyway. The trees are so loaded with ice and snow that the 2 lane road is less than a single lane, and we creep down the road the short distance to the spot. He gets excited..."slow down dad"....and I slow. We get to a small road cut and he says "HERE!"....
I'm like WTF? "This little sh#t hole of a road cut isn't a climbing area is it?" Yes, it is, I'm told. The "area" is like maybe 30 feet long by 30 feet high...and I'm being generous here. The rock looks loosish, blocky and unaesthetic as well. The lad spots the bolts and starts calling out the route names...I don't see bolts or a climbing area for a while. But the enthusiasm starts to work it's way in, and in between some ice and snow I finally see a bolt hanger...then another. Wow. I get caught up in the possibilities, and realize that I really have limited my beliefs on what a "climbing area" can be. See, many people have climbed here, and had shitloads of fun in doing so. But not me. Until that moment I was unaware that something the size a a large boulder could be a climbing spot, in fact, a destination for some. My son has opened up the world for me. now I am seeing other spots as "climbing areas", that I'd previously really disregarded.
What I trying to say here is this. Open your minds. When Todd Skinner was trying to make a living off of climbing, he caught a lot of sh#t for it. Perhaps a lot of it was people too stunned to believe that if they couldn't do it, than no one should be able to do it. Perhaps not. You see, you don't even have the balls to say what your real name is. Let us know your real name, so we can marvel at what a badass you are Pass the Chongo, Chongo. In how well you have managed your life. Meantime, while you yank your pud and yer jaws Plaidman is totally stunning us who climb better than him, in the audacity of him being able to make a buck at it, while we didn't have the brains to even consider the possibility. (BTW, I'd been a paid guide for many years but that was marginal money back then). Plaidman doesn't have work currently and he's making the best of it, and sharing it honestly, warts and all, with everyone.
So step up and tell us your real name Pass the Chongo, Chongo. Or are you just a big pussy chickensh#t? Perhaps you can point us to a trip report you have done? A climb you actually did that proves you actually are a climber and not LEB's mouthy little bitch bastard step child?
