Some folks can move to their ideal local, they have the smarts and money to do so. Some of us are stuck and make due.

At this point/stage in my life yes...
I do expect another future stage in my life will be in another place. I even know the specifics of where that will be....
Now if nobody rocks the boat, it will all work out just fine....

For me: no place is perfect, every place has some positives.
Gary mentioned: What makes a small town livable is the presence of a good university.
Ah------ Choss Creek doesn't even have a bad-university.
There is a lack of "qualified" climbing partners.
Real peaceful though.
There are some cute women around-----and great views too.

Crazy that nobody has mentioned Boulder. Don't half the climbers in the U.S. live here? Maybe Locker did, sort of...

Berkeley is a pretty good runner up, but if Moab had a college and they'd hire me to teach there, I'd move in a heartbeat.

What TGT said. Our little town went the Wal Mart Way.
Still offers us the best all around, having grown up here with the connections and all, house, parents, etc.
Glacier Park aint bad either and our lakes are second to none for swimming.
If the right deal in the right place comes up, we'll leave. I'm hoping thats Norway of course.

Cragman. kauai is awesome. And there is climbing there. Not Yosemite, but a little limestone, sandstone and of course volcanic.
A friend of mine has a house in Wiamia Canyon and has been putting routes up. Can't wait to visit him.

No, but I promised we'd stay here to raise my step-daughter in this house (she was five then) and see her through college (she's a senior this year) - after this year we'll see how it goes, but my wife is thinking Spain and I'm thinking Aukland. Maybe we'll try Spain first, then Aukland.

i'm moving to LA
had to hide under a parking lot so the car wasn't pelted,
and hail is slick! much more than snow,
The impact of Wednesday's hailstorm can be seen at East 5th Avenue and Manchester Road in Chico....
CHICO — A severe thunderstorm passed through Chico this evening, dumping hail as big as ping pong balls and causing localized flooding.
The roof of the library at Marsh Junior High School was breached by the storm, pouring water into a computer lab. Courtesy Motors also reportedly suffered damage from roof failure.
At least two homes were hit by lightning.
The storm took shape about 4:30 p.m. centered on Highway 99 at the Butte/Tehama county line. It hit town about 5:30 p.m. and had moved on by 7 p.m.
It left behind concentrations of hail two to three inches deep, creating traffic hazards. At one point the California Highway Patrol's website listed a half-dozen spinouts on Highway 99 from Estates Drive to Eaton Road.
Marsh Principal Jay Marchant was at a Chico Unified School District board of trustees meeting just before 8 p.m. today, when he go a cellphone call reporting the problem there.
Apparently a roof was damaged by the intense storm, pouring water into the lab, which is located inside the library, and into at least some of the computers in the room.
The school's two-person night custodial staff discovered the leak and had already moved several computers and were in the process of trying to suck up the two-inch-deep pool of water that remained on the floor.
At least three ceiling tiles had come down as a result of the rain.
Erica Sheridan, Marsh's assistant principal, said the school's computer teacher went to the school the school and had

partially dismantled and drained water from at least four of the devices tonight.
Some people took advantage of the storm in a way that irritated their neighbors enough to result in a call to police, to a report a snowmobile was being run up and down the street.
