where are you getting these?

Nature, we can get 'em through Target here. There's got to be more and more places these days.

I'm sorry for buying a prius. I'm kind of bummed that I can't go around preaching to "stereotypes" about how much better I am than them because I drive a Hybrid
Chill duuude.
I'm not going to get into the how green is a Prius argument with you. It paid for itself in the first 100K miles in gas savings. Which also means greenhouse emissions savings. I bought it when I had a 110 mile per day round trip commute. Total lifecycle greenery? I don't think that can be reasonably compared to a Hummer, either way.
I was ironically pointing out my own inconsistency in driving around looking for a parking place in my Prius and how I'm aware of it. So we're in agreement on that.
So what ARE you gonna do for the environment today? And no, I'm not going to knock you for working in an oil field.

Fivesix,
I'm sure it's standard oil-field theology, but your quoting of a biased and wrong report on the Prius conducted by Hummer marketeers is preposterous. Read the entire link, and then really research the issue.

Regarding the previously quoted Prius vs Hummer article.
The obvious implied conclusion is that nickel mines and smelters need much better environmental monitoring and control. The Soviet Union had to abandon several towns downstream/downwind of nickel factories and mines.

The sub-quoted article is factually incorrect about the Prius batteries
The plant is the source of all the nickel found in a Prius’ battery and Toyota purchases 1,000 tons annually
The generation 1 Prius used NiCd batteries (about 80% nickel). It was last made in 2003.
The Generation 2 and 3 Prii use Lithium-Ion batteries.

If you want to know where most nickel is used, it's in stainless steel.
The most common stainless which accounts for about 70% of production is the austenitic series, the 300 series. It's between 8 and 10% nickel. About 60% of used stainless steel is recycled

I'll eat a burger. One less cow to deplete our ozone by expelling greenhouse gases.

I do what I can.

This is really where the oft stated "yer gonna die" can have a real and lasting positive side. It's a very reliable way to cut down your future carbon footprint. Much better than merely planting a tree; go the extra mile and plant yourself. Double points if you do it before procreating. Who's first?

What about lighting a fart? Does that help or hurt the environment? I haven't lit it yet, so let me know soon.
