GOOD NEWS!
These are NOT the kind of steroids that ban one from athletics! The tour is on!

If he ate the ice cream, all is well.
If he applied it to reduce the swelling, I'd be worried.

Be sure to keep a copy of this whole thread. When he grows up you can use it to blackmail him into being good. Can you imagine what his future girl friends would think if they saw this public discussion of his junk. ha

Ahhh! I am so sorry! I am allergic to bees so I know the feeling. I hope he is doing better!
Last year's bee sting on my leg after an epi-pen shot, medication and three days of healing. Yeah!

Todd: Glad your son is getting better. Bee stings can cause a lot of localized swelling for me, but have never crossed the threshold to "life threatening.
Here's a story about getting stung on "Big Bob."
I’m driving home with my buddy Kevin after a weekend climbing trip to some poison ivy infested crags along the Salmon River in Idaho.
Hot summer evening, no AC and the windows are down. I’m wearing baggy climbing shorts of course.
At 60 MPH the drivers-side outside mirror deflected a honey bee through the open window and up my gapping shorts. The injured bee crawled up my inner thigh toward “big bob & the twins”-------as a slightly concerned Fritz felt something and pawed the same area.
Yep, about then, the bee stung me right on “big bob.”
We skidded to a tire-smoking stop, and I was half-way out the door: when Kevin screamed that the car was starting to roll backwards towards the river.
With a heavy sigh, I sat back down, turned off the engine, and put the car in gear.
Then I jumped out again, and dropped my shorts in front of oncoming traffic.
I was much too late to do any good, but I did get to dance on the dying bee’s carcass.

ooooh poor guy.. it's going to start itching in a day or two, hydrocortisone cream for that. Let him pee while he's in a bath with cool water..it will be easier for him. you might notice some mood changes with the prednisone.
best of luck to our trooper.

Obviously, he's named after the favorite local grocery store.

DanaB's response is spot on and from what JT ER gave your son it confirms it. Sounds like he reacted to a sting in a very sensitive area. Is this the first time he's ever been stung?
We see a lot of yellow jacket stings in this part of the country, they even named a town after the little bastards- Twisp (WA) = wasp in native tongue. If someone is anaphylactic the onset is almost immediate, and always life-threating. Keeping benadryl handy in your first aid kit is key and if you are diagonosed as anaphylactic, an epipen(2+).

Von is feeling well today;.....his tea bags are returning to normal......and he can walk today. Last night I layed with him all night.....he was wiggling, kicking, up alot, and played pocket pool most of the night......He was spitting out his medicine and crying that he didn't want to drink the medicine....until Andrea called up the ER and arranged for him to have an injection........then he cried and begged for his medicine.....The swelling was fairly serious;...about X3 normal size .....looked painful;.....we took a picture to show the doctors at urgent care for his follow up tomorrow....so they can see just what happened.......today;...he's good to go, and talking about going to see the transformer movie tomorrow.........(Beck has 4 days of Pirate Camp in Yucca Valley)..........Thanks again for all the advice, good will, and good vibes......

At least he isn't called "Safeway" or "Circle K".
I have a cousin named Vaughn - it's a Welsh name, I believe. Phonetically the same as Von, at least to those who speak English.
