This is what social services are for nowadays. Pursue those if you have to. Personally, I haven't seen any threatening evidence of anything. Then again, I have seen a lot of testosterone oozing forth on this thread.

Good point. He's posting in the Pinnacles thread right now.
I'd guess he's either reeeeaaallly wasted or else English isn't his first language... or both. But it does kinda seem like he sort of apologized to you and like HFCS says, is just looking for someone to talk to. If he gets creepy with you again then it would be right to take some kind of action, but if he's just wandering around the campground muttering, maybe not.

I believe that he has mental health problems. As someone who has his own mental health issues, I feel for the guy, but I don't condone his behavior. The guy has harassed Kathy and made her feel unsafe. I think that it is our responsibility to help her feel safe.
I don't know how messed up the guy really is. His problem comes across like a form of schizophrenia, but I'm not an expert on that and its not a good thing to try and diagnose someone online. I do think that he has compulsions that he can't control. That can make a person very scary unless you know them well and know what kinds of things they will and wont do. I say these things simply to try to help people understand.
If he hadn't stalked Kathy and bothered her for more then a year, with her asking him over and over to just please leave her alone, and having to go to the police, then I would feel bad for the guy because I know how lonely mental health problems can leave a person. My problems with depression, along with physical heath problems turned me into a near hermit and its only been the last few years or so where I have gotten out and met new people. The taco has been a big help to me to not feel completely cut off. Plus friends like Karl. So I get how desperate this guy could be. I just also know that there is a line for behavior, and I believe that he has crossed it. I wish things were different, but they aren't.
When I first saw his writings I thought that he had mental health issues. I wanted to reach out to him, but couldn't because I was overwhelmed by my own problems. I wish there was a way we could check up on him and find out what his real story is. But beyond that, he has already crossed a line and I believe that it is too late for him here on the taco. Kathy has a right to not be harassed. Women are a lot more vulnerable then men are. Kathy is a strong lady, but thats not always enough. Especially when you don't know just how mentally off a person is.
Is this guy just a rambler and not dangerous? I don't know. What I do know is that Kathy has a right to not be stalked by this guy and we have a duty as her friends to help her.
So I vote for kicking him off. As hard as that is for me to do to someone who I think has mental health issues and may not really be a threat. We just don't know and its already gone too far. Thats the basic problem.
I think that I'm starting to repeat myself, so I will shut up now.

It is not our place to decide if he is dangerous. The fact that ekat is concerned is enough for me. She is a strong woman.
With out a doubt the authorities need to be brought in.

What I want you to do is NOT make them Kathy's problems. That would be a start. You said you were leaving, but now you are back. Right now your posts sound almost coherent, but earlier they weren't. So first you have to understand just how scary that makes you when combined with your lack of ability to control yourself. Beyond that.. I don't know. Because I know just how little help there is out there for someone without resources. Once you burn through your resources, then it plain old sucks.
I would ask you if you have any family or friends that can vouch for you, but I think that you have already burned your bridges here.
Edit: I agree that its not our place to decide if he is dangerous. He has already crossed a line. I was just talking about what one does with someone who has mental health issues and scares someone.

You want to reach out to him? He has threatened ekat in so many ways and you want to make nice? Don't you get it?
Edit- Moosie, this is just not anyone he has scared. Kat has been through stuff I cannot imagine. She knows fear and risk. When she reaches out to our community I take it seriously. This guy is not one to be taken lightly.

I get that he has to be banned from the taco and he has to leave Kathy alone. If it sounded like I was suggesting helping him stay, then I apologize. I was not doing that. I was hoping that some kind hearted person who has some understanding of these situations and knows how to help, might be inspired to look into his situation. Some people with mental health problems appear scary, but aren't. I don't have enough knowledge to evaluate this guy, nor the energy to help him. I do know that he has crossed a line on this forum and needs to leave. Sorry if that is confusing. Having mental health issues of my own leaves me with a soft spot for these kinds of problems.
