Dude, keep up the faith. In yourself, your family, and God....even if you're not a spiritual man. This is a good time to embrace spirituality.

Hang tough, man. I'll pray for you.

Pop, Pop, pop.
I start to drop.
And my mind
lights up
as I fall.

Bing bang, boom.
Down to my doom.
On to
the next
go-around.

Whenever I plummit,
I bounce back quick,
even stronger than before.
No just laying there
like a Splat on the floor.
I am a rebound,
a trajectory traveled
at high speed.
I am the Seed
of my own future.

Paul, I was just listening to Van Morrison, Ballerina

The last poster in the music video was describing Van's singing... and the words he wrote reminded me of your writing style.

"All human emotion are crystallised here, and subtly vocalised: desire, joy, world weariness, consolation, awe , anticipation and hope."

Paul, we are all pulling for you.. sending out hope, crossing fingers, sending healing thoughts and prayers.

AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!

Saludos.

Thanks for everyones' thoughts.

Make that ARRRRRRGGHGHGHGHHG into a MIGHTY YAWP!!!!

Ahh, Whitman

I sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world.

I also like this:

I am of old and young, of the foolish as much as the wise,
Regardless of others, ever regardful of others,
Maternal as well as paternal, a child as well as a man,
Stuff'd with the stuff that is coarse and stuff'd with the stuff
that is fine

Here is the whole poem:
Song of Myself
By Walt Whitman
1819-1892

I don't know what to say.... haven't really posted on your threads cause they bring back memories and sometimes life isn't fair and I want it to be and it hurts to see people suffer. I want to help, but sometimes one can't change what's happening to others and frankly it hurts and sucks and is incredibly painful.

I do think about you alot and pray. I know there is an invisible world out there that is more real than the one we live in. Our touch, see, feel world is so narrow, so small. We have something in us that will live forever. Some call it soul. Whatever, I know it is real and exists. When the we, we are, no longer breaths we enter this invisible world of soul.

Like the great explorers and climbers of the past prepared for their adventures, we should get ready for ours. Plot the course and make sure to take the time to get all the beta for this next great adventure. You are so in heart, mind, thoughts and prayers.......I've lived this with the one I loved the most.

I know what you mean. I worry that this decision I made to live this out in public, as it were, will be viewed as a giant "Poor ME". Hope not. I could have posted on a cancer bord, or blogged. But then it would only be read by other cancer sufferes who already know how life suck with cancer.

It is a choice to be in unexpected places to reach people with a mesage. And Climbers are a group I care about, for some reason.

Much love to all.

Off to bed. Up early to go to UCSF Mt. Zion for more Doctor land.

As i started to read this thread and feel the emotion and pain, I thought of what could one say in such a situation to give some hope and then I got to Lynne's post and dropped some tears on my keyboard. Right on, Mama!

Get well, Mr. Master. You have value to some of us here.

In all seriousness, you are prettty-much screwed if you are complaining about anything. Jesus already bought back your (every) solution. A quick fix might be listen to some Norvel Hayes and/or Kenneth Copeland Mp3s or tapes.

Definitely not a "poor me" thing. Having had my own brush with cancer, I very much appreciate how public you've been. I thik it is healthier for our society if these things are not hidden away.
Good luck and hope you feel better.

Hey Paul,

Vicky here. Just want to let you know that Jeff and I have been following your posts and we are really happy that you are writing about your experiences. You love writing and it’s good to see you doing what you love! Keep it up. Jeff especially enjoyed the Josh trip report since that place and you are near and dear to his heart.

Found some pics of your Preston Peak trip with Jeff and also saw an old vid of climbing at Elephant Rock, Jill was there too. Ahh, the old Humboldt days.

You are in our thoughts and Jeff, Aaron, and I send our love your way.

you can stop with that thought yesterday. I seriously doubt anyone views it as that. We want you to share.... we want it because we care.

What?! No help AT ALL, BIOTCH. How could your approach do any good?
Pure blather.

Now back to the sane folks:

I am in the hospital now. The drug seems to not be working much anymore. They will keep me on it for one more week, just in cse it kicks in again.
Other than that, it is wait until the next trial, or interlukin 2... Good grief.

Yeah, I have the vid, an old VHS but still running. I can send it to you if you'd like. Need your address for that, you can send me a Facebook message if so. I could post the pics of Preston on here if you'd like.

Hang in there, Paul.

It's never been a "poor me". thread. It's been a powerful thread unbelievably full of humanity. I am so glad I got to meet you in December.

You said you are in the hospital...which one...and for several days or just an overnighter? Susan
