Walker, Rio and Sarah. . .

Edit; Katie, I think a block hit her in the back, I'm not sure what the extent of her injuries are at this point. . .

No she's in pretty good shape it looked to me but what do I know.

She was complaining her back hurts.

They took her to Mariposa John Fremont Hospital by ground ambulance.

There was a big crater at the base from the block that was knocked off by her.

Howdy all,

Thanks for all the concern and info exchange. Here goes firsthand update.

At 10:30 Sunday morning I took off on lead up oth 11. When I got to the "triangle" looking feature on the super topo (topo) I realized it was a giant flexing flake. I was standing on a buttonhead and could see the next button about 7" to my right and up about the same. I highstepped while underclinging the "flake" I could hear the small rocks moving and was telling Walker and Rio that they should be on the look out for rocks. One of the small football sized rocks dislodged into my hand so I threw it and steped down in my ladders trying to come up with a new plan. I decided to move out right which would require me to place a .75 behind the "flake" I didn't want to bounce test cause I thought it was expanding. So I decided to slowly weight it and after committing to just move fast up n off onto the next button. I slowly shifted hesitating a bit n voicing my concern cause I could hear rocks shifting but eventually decided to fully weight the piece. Alass it held!! I reached down to unclip my aiders n daisy the block cut loose. Fottunatly for me it didn't have time to excelerate It hit me in the back of the head n my whole leftside from the occipital to shoulder to left postieior ribs about down to my belly bottomn. The boys were yelling with excitement about not being by when I started yelling it didn't miss meeeeee!!!! I looked up at my aiders which were exploded to the first step apparently my daisy ripped threw the 7 bar tacks and arrested my fall on the first/ high step in y aiders. At that point lots of sh#t happened blah blah eventually called search n rescue big thansks to everyone that helped!! On the team and those not on the team!

Injury are a broken transverse process on my l3 onthe left side lots of abrasions and contusions. I am out of hospital since they can't repair the brake and am on pain med with an order to have someone wash and lube my back twice a day for a few days... Anytakers??? : ) im supper happy to be int he shape I am and am looking forward to going back and finishing the newly remodeled tangerinetrip. If anyone goes up there we had to leave a hand full of gear on p 11 if you want it tAke it if you wanna carry it down and return it I'd be appreciative!! Again big thank you to all!! I'm writin his on m iPhone since y car was broken into last week and the bastard stole my computer and a bunch of my shwag I apologize for errors and I'll post some picks n video in a few days.

I love these types of posts. Those YOSAR guys rock with all of their training and talent and keeping us posted about what is happening. The outpouring of concern from the climbing community. Those affected posting on the thread to give fellow climbers beta on the accident. And in this case a happy ending. I hope Sarah's injuries heal quickly and she can get back to what she enjoys.

This year has been one of the worst years for climber related accidents, fatalities and rescues ......
