Actually I haven't been up there yet either. I'd like to know what in/out. Seems with
all this cold and wet, it ought to be an early LVC season.

Hey I just moved to the area. Got a week off starting this Wednesday. I'm in need of new partners. I've been climbing since I was a young punk. Would love to get out on some ice!

Hi Ryan,

I am in Mexico thru Dec 8. but if you get out on the ice, the rules say
that you must take pictures and post a few.

Sobering...

Thanks for the updates and photos.

Ryan: PM me if you are looking to ice climb. I try to get out a fair bit during the winter (though this year I've got some rock plans in the spring so I'll have to keep rock fitness through the winter). I've already got some plans laid down for mid-December through early to mid-January, but it's always nice to meet new folks.

Cragman,
Thanks for the informative pics and updates. Dang impressive that so much ice came down so (gulp) easily.

Looking forward to your future report(s) and pics in which you clearly show the ice reformed and climbable!

Climbed a very wet and sorta hollow smear on the roadside yesterday in the rain. Hiked in to LV in the near dark and saw that Main Wall and Chouinard have top to bottom ice. Bard-Harrington has a bit of ice but is a long way out.

A good, heavy and wet snow or rain now will be the best thing for the ice......bring it on.

Climbed Chouinard yesterday. Snowshoes are the way to go on the approach for sure.
