As a frequent lurker, I'd always read your screenname as fat-trad, but now I see it's fatt-RAD! Way to go.
You inspired me to open my wallet for this cliff too. Plus, I'm not so in to the conservative theme you're proposing.

Two announcements of interest for those looking for some Christmas gifts, or just tracking the Jailhouse fundraising efforts:
1. Wolverine Publishing has made a very generous donation to the Jailhouse fundraising effort. They are donating one each of all of their guidebooks for us to auction off. Also, they are donating a free copy for life of all of their future guidebooks to one lucky bidder. Think about that. Their guidebooks rock---- Red River, New River, Bishop bouldering, Vegas bouldering, Rifle, etc etc. We are going to auction off each of the existing individual guides... plus a lifetime 'subscription' to all of their future guides, and they've got a lot of great stuff in the works. A huge thank you to Dave Pegg!
2. Maximus Press has also made a very generous donation. They are donating one each of every guidebook they put out, and that's a lot of guides! Planning any Eastside trips? Want the latest beta on how to maximize the number of stars you clip in the Owens River Gorge this year? Heard about the fun new multi-pitch outings in Pine Creek? etc etc etc
We'll be auctioning these off as well. A huge thank you to Marty Lewis!
We're planning several auctions in the not too distant future. We'll auction some stuff off at some slide shows (venues and dates to be announced) in the Bay Area/Sacramento/Sonora/etc. But we're also going to have an online ebay auction (thus open to the entire taco universe) as well, that Chris Mac is helping host. Stay tuned for details on this channel...

I wouldn't mind climbing at Cheney Rock, I just wouldn't go hunting there.

I think a map and a guide would go a long way to inspire climbers to donate. If the pool of resources (5.13 climbers) is too small to achieve the goal, maybe the pool needs more water (5.11-5.12 climbers who would love to try out some great overhanging rock, even if we don't clip the anchors).

How about "unlocking" that crag up by Auburn?
This crag, while it might be sweet, is a crag for a small percentage of climbers, right?
Doesn't surprise me the $$ isn't pouring in.
I'll also add that I donated. Now I get an AF letter on some earthy paper damn near every week.

Pysched! Also Fixe Hardware and Touchstone are working to replace most of the draws and anchor set-ups! Awesome work by the climbing community!
