Hey nature, looks like I do have a climbing commitment on Saturday with a pretty new climber. I'm afraid what we'll be hoppin' on would be pretty dang pedestrian for you.

And David...you are too kind!

sweet....

OK update from Ghost. Saturday will be to busy at the sushi place he has in mind. So maybe we should just find a place for beers and decent food?

He suggested Tuesday night for the place he has in mind. That'll work for me as there are yoga classes on tuesday/thursday that I want to catch.

So I'll head up tomorrow around noon, find a cyber cafe to work from, and then 5:30 wander over to the yoga class. I'll head home later that evening (or right after) so that's an option.

Same thing with Tuesday except we'll make sushi the plan.

looking forward to meeting some of you folks finally!

thanks mimi.... I'm just looking for a couch to crash on is all (though I'll need a blankee ;-)

Nature - just FYI...any Tully's Coffee or Paneira Bread place has free wi-fi.

Because I still know very little around here, can I just wait for you real locals to sort out a place to meet up on Sat night and show up there?

I can borrow a friend's car this weekend, so can meet you practically anywhere!

Nature, if you find nothing else, you're welcome to crash on my floor (I don't have a spare bed yet) on a Thermarest on Sat night. I'm on Capitol Hill in Seattle.

And then, can I invite myself to climb with you all on Sunday? Pretty please?

Sibylle is also coming through town on her way to Squamish and may join us on Sat. This is turning into quite the crowd.

I'm waiting to hear back from the sushi bar for a room on Saturday. Either way, there are enough good ones to choose from in China Town. No tourons and reasonable. Or we could hit a brewpub. Lots of those too.

nature, sounds like you're covered regardless for a place to stay. Her place or mine...LOL

Paulina, you're more than welcome to carpool with us to the restaurant and/or the crag. It sounds like we're a stone's throw away from each other.

Okay, we have a room on Saturday night at 8:15pm and Tuesday at 6pm. Interested parties, please email me so we can make a decision and lock in to one and cancel the other. I also have to provide a headcount.

Oh... And I won't be out of yoga until 7:15 on tuesday

There you go, sounds like you're all set up there now - about time ST'ers were taking care of you for a change.

Okay, spoke with Ghost. nature, you'll be getting your Hg fix on Tuesday and it sounds like we'll make a crag decision over dinner with Wayno tomorrow. You lucky guys get to climb during the week. Too bad it got hot again up here.

Will likely cancel the sushi reservation on Saturday due to climbing taking precedence...we can always find something in China Town until 3am.

Well I don't get to climb during the week. Saturday might be my only day. Especially if we eat at 3AM in china town (sounds like a blast!).

Okay Tucson boy, if you think this is just fine climbing weather, remember that everything climbable around here faces south, and that we're putting you on the sharp end for all the really hard runout pitches on the climbs we're going to sandbag you onto. We'll see about "you call this hot" when you're 30 feet out on Index 5.11 granite crimping.

edit: Yes, Mari and I will be at Wayno's tomorrow night. I'll be coming off four days of very little sleep, so you'll probably find me in with the vegetables.

ouch.... I just got called out.

Index sounds good. Two problems. One I have something going on in my forearm. Two I might have caught strep throat. M'eh!

I saved the Chanterelles I found yesterday. They will go with some Gnocchi tomorrow night for an appetizer on me. I'm looking forward to meeting some more of the Supertopo crew this next week. What fun!

Good time. Nature wasn't there (not sure he eats anything but sushi and lettuce leaves, neither of which are on the menu at Angelo's). But Paulina was there, and so was Ken Boche (BooDawg). Plus Steve, Mimi, Wayno & Masha, Mari & me.

Great to meet some more S'topians. And we hatched plans to take Nature to the most sun-baked, horrifically difficult and dangerous climbs at Index. Where we will hand him the sharp end of the rope so he can show us mossbacks how Southwestern hardmen get it done.

You found chantes yesterday Wayne

He did, and they were delicious

I think Steve took some pics, Fatty, so simmer down.:^)

Hey Roy, I will tell you that my patch is on Tiger Mtn. but it's a big park. I also saw a bunch of timber sale signs there, so I don't know how long it will be there.

It was fun feeding the local Topians and getting to meet Boodawg and Paulina. It turns out that I had met and climbed with Paulina several years ago through Cascadeclimbers. Small world.

Now I hope to meet the infamous and sublime Nature later in the week, if he makes it back from Index. Oh, the horror...
