A Birthday.....kicking off another year, is like climbing on new stone. A beautiful piece of rock offering many grate, challenging routes. May your new route give you many blessings, adventures and discoveries along with joy and peace as you live and enjoy each day. :D lynne

Ya know, every now and then I think, "hey, I'm old, maybe I should knock this sh#t off." But then you realize there's some as#@&%e out there who's even older than you and who would kick your ass up one side of the stone and down the other on any given Sunday. What's the average schmuck supposed to do under such circumstances but keep on keeping on. Thanks dude...
The Dude Abides. I don't know about you, but I take comfort in that. It's good knowin' he's out there, The Dude, takin' her easy for all us sinners.

Like your buddy Newsome said when he pulled into camp last June, "Aren't you Fred Becky?"

Jim,
I can remember when you and Ament arrived at Couch's house in Idyllwild and you had not yet learned to climb cracks.
And later when you "clued me in" on how to do it. "Go down to the power house crack and do it over and over."
You're still younger than me, if that makes you feel better.

ST forum should refrain from non cimbing posts for 24 hours in honor.
No sh*t! Now that would be a cool freekin' tradition to start. But you know we would get so close, and then some mush head would always f*ck it up.

Jim, you may be a meat package but at least you are USDA certified grade A(lpinist).
Happy birthday to the grand ambassador of American alpinism. You have led the way few could follow.

Happy B-Day Jim. I told the nurses at the Old Climber's Home about the occasion.
They can't hardly wait any longer for you to check in.
