You and Ament both like to write about yourselves and your place/relevance in climbing history.

jaybro, i dont think the poor dude get's it. he is still all hung up and butt hurt about not getting patted on the back.

if it makes you feel any better RJ, i actually still think you could be a meaingful contributor to society. i just think you got to get off of yourself. get a job, volunteer if you cant find a job, do something meaningful with your life. then there won't be such a void for you to fill....

There's always been static. That's nothing new.
We've lost some good people, there's no denying that.
Some people have stopped posting, or at least slowed dramatically.
The causes are varied, though: some have become disgusted or discouraged,
some have simply unburdened themselves of their most interesting material,
some have become bored, not necessarily because of changes in the Forum,
but because they have simply reached their limit of exposure.

When I consider the people who have appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, in
the last year, let alone the last two or three, or five, I cannot bring
myself to long for the Good Old Days in any way.

I think we are in the "Golden Age" of the Stand right now, and not the
tail end, either.

JDX:

You probably won't understand this, but you are making me cry.

You are beautiful.

I am laughing so hard I can't hardly type.

Poor Skippy. TROUNCED! THRASHED and TRASHED!

RJ,
remember this from the illustrious 911 thread? your post? sounds like you wanted to win, sounds like you wanted to beat up on poor old skipt and i. thats why you won't ever get jstan's message
... If the above is true, then these debates are not a contest to see who wins.
until your self esteem improves.

really, it is alright that you are breaking down, happens to lots of folks. nothing to be ashamed of. there there, have a little respect!

EDIT - with a little respect and wes' van, what more could a guy ask for?

Illustrating my point, sort of:
Steve Grossman and Joe Fitschen making contact just in the past few
hours.
Historians are getting to Primary Sources like never before.
Back stories, front stories...

People are finding that others, whom they had previously known only as
rivals or even adversaries are, in fact, warm caring human beings with
generous souls and amazing tales to tell.

Newsflash!!! Nobody cares about your "experiences" BlowCocks. How about posting less and trying to be SuperDad a bit more, or here's an idea, looking for work instead of being a pathetic drain on your family?

I'm off for ride. An after-work ride. Do you remember what those are anymore? Maybe I'll see you out there walking up the hill pushing your junk.

"Golden Age" or "Dark Ages," the last couple of dozen posts would give credence to the latter.

Ah, but even during the Dark Ages enlightened people managed to have fun- well, sort of.
