"Also, JL and others, could you post up more pictures of Richard if you have them please."
Below, RH on the first ascent of the mega classic and totally ridiculous, Aiguille de Joshua Tree, '72. At this time there were NO (as in ZERO) climbs at this part of Josh. Now there are over 800.

Relieved he's going to be ok.
After JL, Richard was my earliest climbing partner.
Richard is an inspiration for his great ability, countless first ascents, but also for his unwavering focus on simply climbing for the last 40 years.
Not many have climbed as much or as hard as Richard.
Here's to a full recovery and many more years of cragging.

Didn't you and Richard pull off a FA or two in the alps around '78? Something about a boulder and some ice?
Kick it Richard!

Wow. Richard has certainly had some serious issues over the years, but he continues to be one of the quiet heros. Sorry to hear about this recent setback, but you're in my thoughts. Keep the faith, bud!
I've found one of your ovals on my ancient rack (maybe it's a diamond-c instead). ...still got the "RH" stamped on it. Never got around to filing it off! :) Come on by, and will see if we can touch Hustle Patterns, up canyon.

I don't know how many people would have pulled through that one. Strong dude with some good professional help. I stayed at his place once in the early nineties with Schneider. Thanks for that and it sounds like your on your way to a full recovery.

Get well. RH is to me the most mystical of all Stonemasters and maybe the most dedicated to the sport it seemed as I read of his exploits over the decades. A true hardman.
