Yeah Ron, Russ the Fish among others called me "The Vato" Mike Paul I guess from always wearing the Vato headband...How that morphed into Watusi is anyone's guess...

Nope, not height.
Here's a blast from the past Mike:
Yes you were the "Vato Mike Paul" because of the headband.
Then came the Swiss; Michi and the others.
Given their intrinsic speech patterns, mixed up V's and W's, so Vato became Wato or "Watu".
Finally, coming to rest as Watusi.

I do remember that as well Roy...I traveled a lot with them, even doing The Arrow Direct with Michi and Punk Roy and Michi did have an odd way of pronouncing this...Yeah at 5'11" I'm not really Watusi stature...

haha, because I don't actually know you, Mike, and because most of the
pictures of you have nobody else for scale, I mostly see you next to
bvb, mostly when you were quite young, so I thought you were actually
a lot shorter than that, like maybe even Garden Gnome size, so I thought
it was a "clever" joke...

Hey Vato,
Who knows how these things evolve?
BH became Big Head, became Bee Hay. Guy Andrews saddled me with that, I used to hate it, gave up and accepted it, strangely now I'm honored by it.
That little sh#t has been gone 30 years! Can you believe it?
