The state of confusion
Mar 8, 2010 - 11:42pm PT
Well, my climbing accomplishments wouldn't make a pimple on
many of the guys butts here. But I'm graced to know
some of the greatest people around, my friends on the taco stand.
Great folks!!!!
The people I've shared a rope with have been by far, some of the
best people I've ever met.

Edit
And like you, I'm working on my bachelor's -- I'm looking forward to
student teaching a year from now, and continuing my education too.
I've had some awesome professors--one was a Freedom Rider who risked her
life fighting for civil rights. An incredible woman. Others have
been really great at making me think.

Homer said it all a long time ago:

Happy the man, and happy he alone,
He who can call today his own:
He who, secure within, can say,
Tomorrow do thy worst, for I have lived today.
Be fair or foul or rain or shine
The joys I have possessed, in spite or fate, are mine.
Not Heaven itself upon the past has power,
But what has been, has been, and I have had my hour.

in all seriousness i would like to get on top of the titan...i think of all the towers and routes in the state, that thing just calls to me...

i'd like one good album too...just one with small commercial success, something with my name on it that people would hear ten years after i'm gone and say 'hey, this is pretty good...'

I made this list about 5 years ago;.....then came two more babies;....so the list has slowed down to a crawl;...I think I've done maybe 3 things on the list in the last 5 years....but I still made it ,....and hopefully I can tick a few more before I meet my maker...

Lifetime Goals
I like to set goals. Setting goals is one thing; making them a reality is another. Talk is cheap. Many people flap about what they are going to do, or what they would like to do, but not as many actually get around to doing these things. Plan and execute. I have been very fortunate so far in my life. I have been able to plan all sorts of dream trips, and then actually experience them. Many experiences I wanted to have in my life, I already have had! This is my NEW list. These are things I wish to experience in my life starting TODAY and on forward. This list has been up-dated to the present. I made this list just for fun. I do hope I am able to tick some of these trips/experiences off. My life is different now with my wife, a small child (Beck , almost 2 years old), and two new twins ( Born May 13, 2006 , Von and Lake). Hopefully, we can chip away at this list together. There are many factors that influence this list. Age is one factor. At over 50, time is now becoming an issue. I still have a fulltime job as well, which limits my time too. Retirement is something which will happen someday, but then just how many years do I have before they put me in the Old Folks Home? Money is always a factor. Some of these trips are expensive, but my philosophy is never let lack of funds get in the way of having a good time. Some of these adventures I can do over the weekend from our house. Others will take months. Some could cost only the gas money to drive to a place, others (Like build my own home) could cost a fortune. This list is not lacking in variety. Ability isn't an issue yet,; I could still pull off all of these trips, but could I at 60 years old? At 65 years old? At 70 years old? Don't forget luck of the draw too. Could I do everything on this list without perishing or getting thrown in jail? I am happy, proud, and lucky to have had all the experiences in my life which I have had so far. I don't see any reason why the party cannot continue well into the future. Now I have Andrea, Beck , Von , and Lake to join me in planning our dreams, goal, and adventures together. Life is sweet! To quote Larry the Cable Guy, " Get 'er done!"

I think it is funny to see how much more incommon we all have with eachother other than climbing. I also love to see that somethings we have done on others tick list. Does that mean we took those for granted and did not realize how awesome those experiances where???
