Neebee, the "chameleons" you find in Texas are actually anoles, a quick little lizard that does have the ability to change colour. These guys are "old world" or true chameleons, orginally from Africa in the Mt. Kenya - Tanzania area. There are many species unique to Madagascar, too.
Googly eyes, funny hands and feet, curly prehensile tails, and tongues almost as long as their bodies. Strange and interesting creatures, for sure. Also very friendly and s-l-o-w.
Jackson's chameleons were brought to Hawai'i as pets, and escaped in a hurricane. They're everywhere now on the islands, but have not had any apparent negative impact. And they eat a lot of bugs. I literally plucked these guys out of the trees. Too cool!

Hey neebee
Lucy we think is an Italian Greyhound mix. We are not sure since we found her wandering the streets. But here are a couple more of her going for the standing broad jump over a stream.

hey there all...whew...say, i am sure missing you all... i been sewing all night.. :O (i am earning a trip from a gal, so i can visit my twin buddies)...
wow, let's see if i can remember all i want to share back with you all:
billo:
say, from the pics, it seems that your dog may have the same shape in many ways that patty ann has, even the color (yours has pointed ears, though, like the ?pharoah?.hounds (patty kind of has lab, or mixed whippet-lab ears)(think greyhound ears are even smaller).. but---the italian grey hound makes sense, too... say, look up whippets, as well, and study on their personality, that may help... i hope to catch patty in "mid flying leap" too... :)...
patty is mixed with lab and that is why she is bigger than most whippets (and she is definately shar pei, too)... grey hounds are bigger than her, and i am not sure about italian greyhounds, but i do know they are smaller types, too... so that COULD VERY WELL fit your REALLY neat dog!
patty ann was an rescue dog, too... and from the street, not an owner give up, so it was hard to know much about her, til she grew...
she really SHOCKED me when she showed "her true self" hahaha...
pass the pitons pete:
WOW... I FORGOT about the term "old world chamelians" you are so right... yeah, these little texas greens are FAST... fast and fun... say, thanks for the neat lesson on more on chamelians... :)
FRITZ: that is SO FUNNY... the chase in "freeze frame"
jobee... wow, oh, jobee, i always love your cat pics!... my cats are doing that VERY same thing tonight as your pictures... they are for serious, too!.... usually in fun, but there down right annoyed at each other tonight and then racing up and down the stairs...
even patty ann was boxing with one of them--however, she was in fun, and the one cat, was not.. ;)
say, all, sure hope to see more stuff here...
the user formaly known as stzzo... :)
(say, i really get a kick out of that name style) :O
yeah---i got to see what to do about the batteries, though the camera say not to use a certain type of batter, so i got to look that up... it can use a lithium??? pack, whatever that is... :O
i have to read the book...
worse trouble is, that i have to use the monitor on it, to learn how to do stuff... after than, hopefully i won't have to, and the batteries will last longer, too... (all gone again, now) :(
thanks for the fun, everyone!
:)
*and last, but not less honor... oh ekat... i love your doggie and its swim... and i always feel for your loss... :(
god bless and hugs...
*hope i got everyone... :)

hey there ricardo cabeza.... say, what kind of dogs... wow, they are off to a neat "field trip" ... off and running... :)
wow, if i let patty loose, she'd take off after a critter and be gone!...
she obeys me, in the fence... but i have read that with her "sight hound" skills, that she may take off, in "gone natural" mode, and not even take note me, unintentionally...
say saw that whippets, greyhounds and bloodhounds, (not sure what else) you have to keep on leash...
thanks for the neat share.. love that COAST line! :)

hey there tradmanclimbs (and all you guys)... say, i am hoping to someday camera-shoot a deer that way... i am now on the "too far away" side of town now, though...
but wil still hope to do so... we had some in the woods where i used to live by... hard to see them jump, but at times, i'd find them doing it...
thanks for the share...
say, ricardo, i used to have a black lab, when i first go married, very sadly someone lost it, when i moved to texas--they were going to keep it at there ranch, cuase sadly, where we lived, many a dog was full of mange... :O and i had never heard of that, and we had to money to fix it, IF SHE EVER got it... (big mistake on my part for trusting the now ex's family)...
thanks for link...
__
also, oh my hankster__... say, i had a gift for you and wife, a ways back... trying to add some holiday cheer (after one of your posts in dec)... say, can you please email me?
and that dog and cat photo, of the "stuck cat" really set me to a good laugh here, oh my! :))
my pup-dog patty ann "captures" one of my cats with her front paws and we have "stuck kitty" til the cat makes the dog say "uncle" :O
*the other cat will not stand for such 'catches' and the other THREE are "off to the races" at these time----i REALLY GOT TO CATCH this on film, soon.... very funny "full run' stuff... :))
*oops, almost forgot, survival:
loved the circus dog, say, i am trying to teach patty ann how to do that, but i think i will wait til spring... should be funny, she makes me laugh a lot when she is in "trick mode"...

hey there chiloe (and billo) and all,
say, i had seen a running dog on the beach, photo... on line, on a search...
it was an italian greyhound... dogs are really neat to see, running through the shoreline/water...
patty is not sure yet, what this is all about...
i need to find a more fenced in area for her, though, and too:
she would take off to all the dogs, full speed! and some may no like it...
(her obedience, seems to be at home, or on a leash)
if i ever can, i hope to enjoy here there, at a beach
(ooop--this is LAKESHORE country, haha, no OCEAN here, sadly)...
:)
