Look, this is all fine and sounds very "intelligent".
I'll just never understand why we as a species find ourselves so much better than everything else on this planet. Especially when we as a species have found every way imaginable to destroy everything we claim to cherish and hold near and dear to our hearts.
I continue to do everything I can to separate myself from this as much as possible. I still use gas, I still drink water, I still eat food. But I do try to do so with as little impact as possible.
I don't need cute terms, or tired rhetoric to tell me otherwise.

LEB,
I liked your post about James, etc. Well put.
The easy working definition of postmodern that I use is essentially when one predominantly uses the conjunctive 'and' rather than 'or'.
You antagonist here seems to be more on the 'or' side.
Most republicans I know (I'm assuming you are one, forgive me if I'm wrong) tend to the black or white, this or that kind of thought. You pushed me to rethink this.
Please note I use predominantly above. Of course one has to use 'or' here and there.

"But you are not the sum total of the human population on the planet."
No questions about that.
"Some people do "need" it to one degree or another."
This is sad at best. Hence the reason I treat most with only a cursory eye at best.

You're right. I have lived and changed. The longer I have lived the more I have changed.
These changes embrace the exact points I'm making. I'm settling in after 47 years.
I'm very pragmatic. I've watched with a careful eye for years what's going on around me, and what's going on with in me.
My decisions and judgements are not based on some vacant belief in things that are most likely fantasy.
I just walked outside, it's pretty a full moon. I live on 120 acres of absolute beauty, that makes me happy. Today my climbing partner and I started putting up a new route that we will hopefully finish tomorrow. That makes me happy.
Will I wake up tomorrow? I don't know. I'd like to. If not oh well. My guess, that's it if I don't.
I take solace in that. I don't really need much else.
Due to life decisions long ago, I may well not have a ton of time left, not what I would like, but that's the way it is. I made decisions long ago, and still do that are not likely to benefit me in the long run.
Here I am.
Begging and bargaining based on myths, bullsh#t, rhetoric, and ancient fairy tales won't change a thing.
Here I am.
But I will tell you this, I'm gonna put my best foot forward while I still can.
I'm off to bed. Fun debate.
Best wishes (trust me, not something I say often:)

LEB,
Check out this talk entitled: Perl, the first postmodern computer language by Larry Wall.
http://www.wall.org/~larry/pm.html
Interesting how different cultures through the ages describe the subtle energy systems in the human. I think that many in the past were very astute observers and this allows translation between systems such as the Chinese meridian system and the Chakras (since they are both descriptions of the same thing). what is interesting now is the "translation" and integration, so to speak, between such traditions and modern medicine.

"Some people do "need" it to one degree or another."
Something artificial will never last or ultimately work.
But something real always will.
And that is the real test and final result .....

Wow! I don't think I have ever seen Robert post so much!
My results (not that I really care):
Root: open (44%)
Sacral: over-active (81%)
Navel: over-active (81%)
Heart: open (63%)
Throat: over-active (75%)
Third Eye: open (69%)
Crown: open (63%)
Edit: The got me dead wrong on some parts - I guess that is a result of the over-simplification.

Ok, post thread reading edit: I see there has been some kissing and making up, so cool.
The point of the test for me is a fun way to become aware of yourself in one way or another. This is hard for some people, understanding oneself. Maybe even a bit scary. But there are many ways to get to understand yourself and the world around you more. Some simple and some way over the top.

RLF. You're an angry guy.
Perhaps you don't need to open your chakras.
Instead, I suggest looking into enemas.
Lol@ "Yawn. ask mommy for milk and cookies"
You sound kind of like SkipT. And we all know and love SkipT.
Do you actually say "yawn" when you type it out and post it on this message board?
Curious minds want to know.

R: We had a full day tour of the park chasing the sun. Ended up after sunset on Intersection. Cold all day, bailed fast.
Keep up the good work out there - amazing progress!

Angry? No.
Those are your ignorant words.
Annoyed by blatant stupidity?
Yup.
Yawn?
My response to your over developed sense of "enlightenment".

Eric,
Hope you guys didn't bail due to the temps. Yesterday and today was amazing. We had a perfect spot and were stripping layers. Put up a very fun 5.7 at about 160 feet. Nice route for those not inclined to deal with some of the bolder harder stuff we have put up lately.
Take care of skip!
P.S. Yeah, the place is coming around. Still tons to do, but we're getting there!
