The problem is the "radicals" run most of the major countries in the Middle East,
I'll bet they feel the same way about us...
Anyway, just exactly what was it that put us on their shite list? Oh yeah, it was the shrub and his cronies that decided to wage an immoral, illegal war in a country that didn't pose a direct threat to the US. A country that just a few years before was our "ally". Then we came and "bombed them back to the stone age," killing hundreds of thousands of innocent bystanders, just so some very rich, very powerful companies could have something to do (ie: rebuild Iraq).
Seems like they've got a better argument on who exactly is being the aggressor.
Most are unemployed, live miserably and are living in fear for their lives every day. I would guess the prospect of being a revered martyr, providing some money for your family, helping to remove the aggressor (who treats you with total disdain and can't understand your religion) from your country, and having the bonus of 72 virgins waiting for you on the other side is pretty attractive.
Get it?

All either of you has posted is hearsay. Show me one direct, indisputable, reputable link that conclusively proves he knew the money was going to support Hamas.
I'll save you some time. There are none.

But I'm winning. Can't let lies stand. If we let this crap go unchallenged, then they keep feeding off themselves and sucking in more unwitting believers.

I love Sarah. Please, please vote for her in the 2012 primaries! Then Obama will absolutely get re-elected. A dem prez and a mixed congress is unfortuneatly probably the best we can do for our country. All dem control means too much spending. A repub president is usually a nightmare.
Cragman I feel sorry for you actually thinking there is big violence coming. That's a really sad way to think.
Obama's approval rating is right where Reagan's and Clinton's were so I wouldn't be too confident he doesn't get re-elected. If the economy improves chances are he will be re-elected.

Skeptic -- lets see -- I bet you are willing to say that global warming is irrefutably caused by man, despite massive evidence to the contrary. In other words, I would bet that you would conclude, based upon some evidence, that man causes global warming. Yet you don't use the same sort of evidence-to-conclusion process when talking about Yusuf Islam. Why not?
Oh -- BTW -- why was he on a no-fly list of our own government? Was it because he was just delivering candy to kids?

Financial Times, January 1989:
Cat Stevens, the pop singer, is up in court in the Gaza Strip, at least in absentia.
Stevens is a convert to Islam and knowadays prefers to be known as Yusuf al-Islam. During a visit to Jerusalem last year, he was highly critical of Israel’s handling of the unrest in the occupied territories. It was alleged in an Israeli military court in the Gaza Strip this week that he had gone much further and given about 4,000 Pounds (pds) to the fundamentalist Islamic movement, Hamas.
Hamas is bitterly opposed to the current peace moves of Yassir Arafat, the PLO chief, and wants to replace Israel with an Islamic state.
In 1991, Yusuf Islam led protests against America and the Gulf War in Bradford, England and demanded immediate withdrawal of our troops.
According to terrorism expert Steven Emerson, who testified before Congress in 1996 about the militant group Islamic Association for Palestine:
IAP is presently headquartered in a nondescript strip shopping mall in Richardson, Texas. IAP has set up an elaborate publications and video operation to promote Hamas, in both Arabic and English. While the Arabic brazenly supports Hamas, IAP’s English-language publications and videos — clearly intended for non-Muslim Western audiences– are relatively tame, refraining, for the most part, from advocating terrorism and hatred against Jews and Christians.
But not entirely. One IAP publication, called “America’s Greatest Enemy: The Jew and an Unholy Alliance,” has been routinely distributed at Islamist conventions. Another IAP brochure, authored by Yusef Islam, formerly known as the singer Cat Stevens before he converted to Islam, contains plain old anti-Semitism: “The Jews seem neither to respect God nor his creation. Their own holy books contain the curse of God brought upon them by their prophets on account of their disobedience to Him and mischief in the earth. We have seen the disrespect for religion displayed by those who consider themselves to be ‘God’s chosen people.’ … There will be no justice until all the land is given back to its rightful owners … Only Islam can bring peace back to the Holy Land…” From his home in Great Britain, Islam/Stevens has also raised tens of thousands of dollars for Hamas, in cooperation with the British fundraising arm of Hamas, known as the Relief Fund for Lebanon and Palestine.

Hey Norton -- can you tell me how much the national debt has gone up in the two short years under Obama and Pelosi?

CBS news, Oct. 2010:
New numbers posted today on the Treasury Department website show the National Debt has increased by more than $3 trillion since President Obama took office.
The National Debt stood at $10.626 trillion the day Mr. Obama was inaugurated. The Bureau of Public Debt reported today that the National Debt had hit an all time high of $13.665 trillion.
The Debt increased $4.9 trillion during President Bush's TWO terms. The Administration has projected the National Debt will soar in Mr. Obama's fourth year in office to nearly $16.5-trillion in 2012. That's more than 100 percent of the value of the nation's economy and $5.9-trillion above what it was his first day on the job.

Democrats on track to double national debt by 2010
February 27th, 2009 2:45 pm ET.
The Democrat-controlled Congress, with help from President Obama's big government vision, is on track to double the national debt in four years.
USA Today published an interactive chart that provides annual revenue, spending, deficit and national debt numbers. The most frightening number is the national debt.
When the Pelosi/Reid left-wing Democrats took control of Congress, the national debt stood at $9 trillion.
Based on Obama's overview of his $4 trillion $1.75 trillion deficit budget, the chart predicts that, by 2010 -- after the Democrats have controlled congress for only four years, the national debt will stand at $17.6 trillion. That is very nearly double the $8.67 trillion debt the Democrats "inherited."

global warming is irrefutably caused by man Uh, yes, of course. Only an idiot would deny the scientific evidence that exists.
From National Geographic:
Earth has indeed experienced warming and cooling cycles roughly every hundred thousand years due to these orbital shifts, but such changes have occurred over the span of several centuries. Today's changes have taken place over the past hundred years or less.
Here's another source if you care to know the facts:
"The overwhelming majority of scientific experts, whilst recognizing that scientific uncertainties exist, nonetheless believe that human-induced climate change is already occurring and that future change is inevitable."
This captures the conclusions of the most recent comprehensive assessment of the state of climate change science by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The UN-sponsored, international body of scientists is charged with synthesizing every five years what the scientific community has learned about our changing climate and its impacts on people and the environment.
Yes, global warming/climate change is partly natural. But the rapid acceleration points directly at human population and industry growth. To deny that is amazingly obtuse.
despite massive evidence to the contrary Massive. Just massive.. Show me some of that. And try to provide objective, non-whacko sources.

They've been angry at us since 700 AD, because we don't share their exact beliefs
I think it goes a little deeper than that. Maybe because England tried to wipe them out during the Crusades...?
And for suap:
Key phrase you seemed to miss: "It was alleged" Big difference between that and "it was proven". I can allege that you're a child-molesting meth head who steals from his dying grandmother. Doesn't make it true. But I do wonder...
