True, true, Survival, and yet...Jack Burns did not probably care too much about the lines and labels we impose on the land.
Generally, this land, this Plateau, is pretty perfect for those misfits, those misanthropes with itchy feet and no particular desire for long-term commitment.
NM is stunning with its broadblue cotton-studded skies and the sad stories written on the faces of its aboriginal inhabitants. The pure emptiness beats much of my home turf hands down for making a man feel tiny. I see why you love it. I love it too, but I am enamored of the sensuous shape of a Navajo waterpocket brimming with tannin-rich tardigrade-tasting essence of life. I love the big rivers and deep-walled canyons of Utah more than the bajadas, the jornadas des muertos, the waterless low mountains, and the cloying high-density doctorates of NM towns.
The vistas, though, NM does have those everyday stop-your-heart vistas.
This guy, the mysterious Ny. Petersen, tickles my mind. 1761, San Rafael desert, waaaaaay before Dominguez and Escalante. State borders, shoot!

I really like the song too. Its wild how it went viral and so many people made their own videos. The song was released in Nov of 2013 and now there are hundreds of videos out that people made.
