No Empty Spaces
I saw JB in a dream last night
he was youthful for in his forties
I was scrambling along
when he woke up
he was sleeping on a boulder
he was tan and blond
my heart was glad
he seemed so young
though I now being
so much older
As we said good morning
he smiled and yawned
a familiar dreamscape
where I saw him
with sleep still in his eyes
John talked like it
was yesterday
and he teased me in his way
as we walked through a canyon
under clear blue skies
I woke sometime later
and realized like Tobin
John had passed
some time ago
I remember them often
and candle my grief
their memory kept
where we hold close
those heartfelt encounters
that comfort us now and then
For I can perceive
no empty spaces
where the fallen remain
in elusive places
we shall keep them as we should
within our sight
where they’ll not be lost
nor ever to perish
as we carry them
like our blood

So did anybody call it the Winterland Ballroom
My thought is that Graham dropped the Ballroom
The Fillmore Carousel Ballroom
Can we at least get some Dead Sheeit in here somewhere
From the destruction of Winterland - 1985?

Pretty sweet downtown this morning: A bright sun, balmy spring weather, people making life better.
The renovations of both the Tioga and the El Capitan hotels are in full swing, the El Cap moving into its second stage. Heavy lifting.
I stopped in at Tony's Courtyard Cafe for lunch. Noah, from the Cinema, is cooking there now, and I had some delicious broccoli/cheese soup. The burger wasn't very good, not compared to the ones I've had at Joe On the Go. I found out that Chrissie, also from the Cinema, is working the Courtyard on Saturdays, too.

A Thought-A-Day, that's all we ask.
"Passion is temporary. It doesn't last long.
Love is enduring. And that's the important thing.
If we all had love in our lives to the degree that we should, it would be much happier."
--John Wooden, 2009

A Mercury is a good car. That's the car I was driving that day. I've had a lot of cars. Different kinds. Lot's of different kinds of cars. She was standing - this girl - on the side of the street where there was this chicken stand, wasn't the Colonel but it was a chicken stand nonetheless. I pulled the Mercury up right along side her and rolled down the window, see, by electric power. She had on a leather skirt and had a lot of hair on her arms. I like that a lot. That means a big bush. I like a big bush. She says, "Are you dating?" You know, so I said, "Sure". She gets in and we pull off to a remote location that was comfortable for both she and I. She says, "How much do you wanna spend?", I said, "Whatever it will take to see that bush of yours because I know it's a big one". She says, "Twenty five dollars". That's not chicken feed to a working man so I produce the $25, she puts it in her shoe, pulls up her skirt and there before me lay this thin, crooked, uncircumcised penis.
