Timid,
Loyd (the correct spelling) is a fishing machine, right? I knew he used something deadly but never asked.
I never had much luck with live bait--worms and crickets--which caught either smallies or trout, but only on the bottom.
For me, a Super Duper spoon worked best for the smallies, but wasn't sure-fire.
I guess the fish are all safe now, at least from my pitiful efforts.
I used to love to watch Bill Dance, or anyone, for that matter, about fishing.[Click to View YouTube Video]

Zay, after you called, I, too, went out walking...to the G Street bridge--three blocks, one uphill, more than strenuous enough if you're having trouble getting oxygen, which I was.
I had to take several tokes on the inhaler but I made it. I had my tripod, and glad of it.
The angle of the sun was good, the volume of brown water in the creek was high as I've seen it recently, though it had backed off some since the morning, when I'd scoped it out on the bus.
It always cracks me up when someone in a passing car yells at me when I'm absorbed making a shot. Or when they honk, for whatever stupid reason. No one did today, though. I'm just sayin'.
I mean, I get why they do it, it's a source of cheap amusement, like climbing used to be when I was just beginning. And the other guys in the car will think they are cool. Like trundling rocks or kicking opossums. (Don't ask, it's in the past, okay?)
