hey there say, st00pid Americans... yes, Trump's presidency is a total and complete train wreck, but at least he still has the Singapore Summit.

No he doesn't.

No he doesn't.

But he should still get the Nobel Peace Prize because... well, he tried.

Anyone who knows an iota of history could have predicted this.

I admire the President for trying something new regarding North Korea. But his execution of the idea has been barely good enough to be called amateur (and who knows, time continues to tick onward, maybe he'll pull this one off...).

At least he hasn't accepted a bribe from North Korea (that we know of).

I know for fact that Trump IS insane.

But you people are the direct cause of idiots like him appearing in power.

it's been more than 50 years in the making.

It's completely your faults.

If you believe otherwise then you are as insane as Trump is ....

What an idiot. Here's the start of the letter cancelling the meeting........
Dear Mr. Chairman:

We greatly appreciate your time, patience, and effort with respect to our recent negotiations and discussions relative to a summit long sought by both parties, which was scheduled to take place on June 12 in Singapore. We were informed that the meeting was requested by North Korea, but that to us is totally irrelevant. l was very much looking forward to being there with you. Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting. Therefore, please let this letter serve to represent that the Singapore summit, for the good of both parties, but to the detriment of the world, will not take place. You talk about your nuclear capabilities, but ours are so massive and powerful that I pray to God they will never have to be used.

This is written at a 4th grade level. If Trump didn't write it we're in even more trouble than I thought.............

I’m kind of relieved. He is so I’ll prepared, vulnerable to flattery, and impetuous, that the whole thing seemed set up for failure. God only knows what concessions he would have made.

...God only knows what concessions he would have made.

I wasn't worried so much about concessions as about falling for a pack of lies from a North Korean dictator.

Those who don't know history are condemned to repeat it (so they say). And Trump is as ignorant of history as they come. Even recent history, like the Clinton and Bush "agreements" with North Korea that weren't worth the paper the were presumably printed on.

He'd have come home patting himself on the back for accomplishing "peace in our time" while having actually gotten nothing of value.

Public Service Announcement:

It's a gorgeous day here in the Sierra after days of on-and-off rain storms.

I'm taking the dogs and heading up to 8,000 feet to see what snow levels are like at my favorite crags. I think I will also do a hiking recon of a fantastic, alpine granite cliff system that may be as much as an hour and a half hike from the trailhead. But worth the hike - maybe as many as 50 new route possibilities.

These words have nothing to do with this thread's topic.

They are designed only to make fellow readers jealous.

Now get back to work.

Can we still buy the commemorative coin?

edit: just checked, they marked the price down

https://www.whitehousegiftshop.com/product-p/summitcoin.htm

The Coin Will be Made Whether or Not the Summit Occurs as Scheduled

Because the Theme is
Coming Closer to Peace and Celebrates the Act of Communication Among Countries

If Summit Does Not Occur You can Request a Refund but Most Supporters Have Said They Want This Heirloom of
Political History Regardless of Outcome.

Latest Trump quote:
"I believe that this is a tremendous set back for North Korea and indeed a set back for the world. I've spoken to General Mattis and the joint chiefs of staff and our military which is by far the most powerful anywhere in the world, that has been greatly enhanced recently as you all know, is ready if necessary."

"Likewise, I have spoken to South Korea and Japan and they are not only ready should foolish or reckless acts be taken by North Korea, but they are willing to shoulder much of the cost of any financial burden, any of the costs associated by the United States in operations if such an unfortunate situation is forced upon us."

This guy is good. Not only did he get Mexico to pay for the wall, he's going to get Japan and S. Korea to pay for the war!!!! Amazing.

Please bring back the adults.........

There is no Burst Rock anywhere near where I live.

If there was a Burst Rock near where I live, there would be absolutely no unclimbed rocks anywhere nearby.

If there were any unclimbed rocks anywhere near the Burst Rock that does not exist anywhere near my house, they would be chossy.

(Feel free to PM me for details and maybe a photo. Maybe.)

Braun, just f*#king give it up. You make even less sense than you did.... whenever. You got something to say, say it. You got nothing to say, which is the situation, just STFU. Yeah, I get you get off on the bullshit repetitive posts, but at least change the pattern or the words or something. Pretty lame man. What a tool.

And yeah, I know my response is what you want, but you look like a stupid idiot quacking into the sunset. Nothing personal, just happy to make your day.

Interesting that my generation of leftists, who used to be suspicious of CIA, NSA, FBI and other spook agencies of the US gov't,  now take their word as the gospel.
