for all the little things
there’s a timeline for our joy
and a timeline for our misery
I can’t think about that though
don’t you know
it’s too painful
and I shouldn’t mention it
just so you know
I’ve been waiting for the right time
to tell you I appreciate you
for so many things
for all the little things
that you do
there’s a mountain up ahead
but you focus on the road
I always say I got this
I got so many things
It’s so easy now
thinking I know
I just want you to know
if it weren’t for how you handle it
we’d be lost with every storm
and I appreciate you
for all the little things
that you do
there’s a timeline for our pain
and a timeline for what’s ours
time’s been counting down
from the day we met
I can’t think about that
don’t you know
I just want you to know
oh oh oh
we’d be lost with every storm
I appreciate you
for all the love that you carry
and all the little things that you do

So much Sorry
ohhhh
you’re so cute
I feel so much sorry
so much sorry for you
with your fuzzy face
that shiny wet nose
and those floppy ears
awww
you’re so sweet
I feel so much sorry
so much sorry for you
with those muddy feet
and your wet kisses
and your stinky breath
-muddy footers

mr stick bug
hello mr stick
you are strangely attractive
turns out you are active
with your stick legs
and you stick body
and your sticklike ways
show me you care
shoot me a line
one look one stare
just meet me in the middle
with your buggy eyes
hello mr stick
won’t you show some affection
please give me hug
though I know you’re a bug
you’re a one of a kind
tell me what’s on your mind
please mr stick bug
oh please if you dare
wait I think I can feel it
I’m stuck on a leaf now
like a stick bug
you can stop looking at me now

The Long Read
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/feb/28/how-violent-american-vigilantes-at-the-border-led-to-trumps-wall
Patrol agents also used the children of migrants, either as bait or as a pressure tactic to force confessions. When coming upon a family, border patrollers usually tried to apprehend the youngest in the group first, before the others dispersed, with the idea that the rest of the party would give themselves up so as not to be separated. “It may sound cruel,” one patroller told a journalist, “but it often worked.”
Turner thought the 99th meridian, the place where the prairie meets the desiccated plains, as good a place as any to symbolically mark the frontier. Beyond this line, tenacious, inventive men started to figure out ways to irrigate dry land and began to think of history as progress, as moving forward toward an ever more bountiful future. It was here where the US became liberal and internationalist, where it learned how to “feed the world”.
The novelist Cormac McCarthy called this line the “blood meridian” and thought it signalled a different kind of boundary, across which the conceit of progress gave way to an infernal timelessness, to a land “filled with violent children orphaned by war”, where soldiers and settlers got caught in a dervish swirl, moving in circles going nowhere.

Flame on
I gaze into the doorway of temptation's angry flame
And every time I pass that way I always hear my name
Then onward in my journey I come to understand
That every hair is numbered like every grain of sand
So I suppose the corollary is:
Make every grain count and
Always avoid quicksand when you're carrying that light bulb around

All I had to do was find a way not to be hurt by this blindly acting power of the outside world. Because if people can kill me, as well as hunger or stone, it does not apply to what is immortal in me. We were born free, beyond all laws of this world. "
In the spring of 1943, disturbed by Christina's prolonged silence, I sent her a telegram: "Remember, the truth wins".
From Switzerland I got the following answer: "Christina died peacefully on November 15, 1942 as a result of a bicycle accident".
