Godammit, are we starting in with this anonymous poser sh#t again? There can be only ONE Chongo, and I am that Chongo. Do not drag my proud name through the gutter for your petty amusements.

The Real Chongo

PS I sport climb, but only by hitchhiking.

Everybody should just shut the f*#k up!

Aid climbing is what its all about.
Standing on your aiders and knowing that if the hook you're on blows, you're in for a 200 footer, because there's nothing below you that will hold. You'll probobly nail the block below you, then deck on the belay ledge, and have cerebral fluid leeking from your ears, while your spine is crushed and there's a blood stain on the ledge for another 3 years.

Now that takes sack.

My small problem with aid: there's all this talk about new wave and body weight placements and death falls, as aidman has illustrated, and at the same time there are hundreds of parties swarming hard aid route (the Reticent is one example), supposedly making these outrageous moves over death falls. I'm not saying its not hard climbing (you don't see me up there) but if it really WERE as hard as the hype says, somebody would have splattered by now just because of statistics--blown a loose flake, zippered a pitch, decked a ledge, SOMETHING. Aid climbing, however, is not stupid, not like sport. Aid deals with fear, which is why it means something, and it involves beer as well. In fact, aid falls under the category of traditional climbing.

I heard Donny just soloed the Sheep Ranch. Can anyone verify?

Hi, you sucker! If you are on the niveau of the playstation then sportclimbing for you is stupid because you are so! I wish you all the best for hard limestone moves in Austrian or German areas... Granite is good for trad, try to place gear in roundes, flared offwidth washed out cracks and climb than ten feed a 5.10c move... you will definetly need diapers. An alpine sportclimbing route is instead of a life-risk still moderate. I´m glad that there is sportclimbing, because if everybody that sportclimbs would climb trad, you will have thousands of climbers in the trad areas. Have fun when a voice says: "now serving number 356" at the base of nutcracker.
Oh. are you such a good climber to make a judgement which sort of climbing is good and which not, I think you have no right. Even the real good trad climbers are good sportclimbers (Wolfgang Gullich, Ron Kauk, Huber-Brothers). I think you avoid sportsclimbing and look for the hidden trad-crag where nobody can see you and trad climb your 5.2´s with your own pro...
Have fun in your little stupid square and climb your hidden crag

huh?

Wow. He is as good as Donny. Except even more nonsensical.

Is it a language thing, or more likely just inspired trolling? Either way, please tell us more Herr AlpineSport Dood.
