If this picture shows...I am curious if anyone knows if my dad posted it or if someone sent it to him? If so...what was the context in how it was used? If it didn't show disregard and I will try again tomorrow. Thanks so much...

Heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Ouch.
A big loss to our online campfire, a funny and wise soul who brought a lot of joy to this place.
Thanks for sharing some of the details of his life here Allie, it is nice to know that his forays here were a joy to him while homebound even as he made us all laugh so much.

Allie,
Again my heartfelt condolances go out to you and your family. I really wanted to thank you for taking the time to intimately share about your dad...obviously a great man and an outstanding example of love passed on to all who knew him. Each of us can only hope to have a fraction of the impact on others as he has been through his kind acts, humerous cartoons and thoughtful words of wisdom. I wish I had had the pleasure of meeting him in person.

Allie,
Your dad had soul, he touched us all in one way or another.
I am very sorry for your loss, many loving healing thoughts coming your way from Yosemite.
-you must come here when the time is ripe.
I have laughed so hard viewing some of OUCH's images that I have cried out-loud! He was very kind and never cruel...a gift in itself.
Werner's post says it all.
Guys like OUCH go straight up to Heaven.
Thank you for sharing him with us.

Seventy Two ? SEVENTY TWO !
I always figured he was some talented college kid with too much time on his hands and strong
photochop skills.
I honestly thought all those old Yos & USAF photos were of OUCH!'s dad. Seriously.

Dear Allie,
I never communicated directly with your dad, but he put a huge smile on my face many times when I would sign on, find a thread with another one of his outrageous photoshopped captioned thingy's in the forum. A huge loss to say the least. My condolences.
Cheers,
Doug

Oh My Gosh...this is so sad. Nita just let me know that Ouch! had passed on...I still cannot believe it.
Allie, your dad was a creative genius of the first order. Where wit and visual humor were concerned, he will never have a match here on the Taco. Ever.
And it was obvious to one and all that he had a heart as big as his talent...which is to say, gigantuous. How fortunate you were to have a father like that...and to have him in your life for so many decades. 72? No way. Ouch! was 17 going on 1000. He had that eternal humor thing that made him ageless.
I sympathize with you and your family for your loss...but mostly I celebrate with you and your family for having such an awesome and amazing fellow in your lives.
Peace to you,
Laura

Very well put, Laura. Although I gave Ouch a lot of shít, he took it all in good humor
(as it was intended). There will never be another like him. But his works shall live on forever!

Man... this news just makes me sad. I'm not sure what we all share, but it is obviously very unique and powerful. Though I didn't know Ouch personally, I feel a very personal loss. RIP my brother.

Oh. This is such sad news.
I feel fortunate to have been hanging around here,
and being exposed to this so-genuine guy. Any of
his small allusions to the then-and-there e.g.
Reno, Tennessee, the 50s, I felt like I knew just
what he was describing. It was like getting the
cryptic Uncle to open up a bit.
Thanks Ouch.
Happy Trails, Allie.

hey there allie... say, i just stopped by again.. say, it would be nice if you still dropped in from timem to time... there is a reason why all these folks have been drawn together, you know.. .
and in a sense, you are now, through your dear-dad, drawn here, too...
god bless and i sincerely hope your mom is doing well... remember to give her many hugs, as, sometimes with mom's, they can keep much "silent" from the kids, as it the habit, to be strong...
much love to you... and much strenght your way, as you seek to honor your dad and his work, not many kids theses days even know what honor is----you are very special, dear gal...

Hello to the members of the forum.I've been watching the conversation between all of you, including my sister, following the passing of our father, the man you all know and love as Ouch. I'm his youngest son, Andrew, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. My sister has very eloquently shared stories of Dad, and the outpouring of affection that has followed has been wonderful. One thread here made mention of his fondness for the inimitable lyrics of Jim Croce...Jim has been gone for 35 years, and Dad reminisced with a smile every time he heard one of his songs. He loved music....some years ago, my brother Scott and I took him to a Crosby,Stills and Nash concert in Spokane, and the next day, a local newspaper music critic referred to those in attendance as '4500 aging hippies'.....Dad grinned like a possum eating a sweet potato at the thought of a Tennessee country boy being described that way......

We're honoured to have you visit, and tell us a bit about your father. Please feel free to come by at any time, especially if it helps you with your loss.
Ouch! made a great contribution to SuperTopo, and will be sorely missed. We all wondered how he found his way to our zany little world, although not all here are climbers, but are glad that he enjoyed visiting and adding to it. Do you know how he came to be here? It looks like he may have had a good trip to Yosemite when he was younger, and perhaps that had something to do with it.
As you may have gathered, SuperTopo is something of a real community. Some people here have known each other since before the internet was invented, and many of us get together for various events such as the SushiFests, the Yosemite FaceLift, and so on. There is talk of a get together in Seattle sometime in the next few months, as 20 - 30 of us live in that general area. You and your sister and families would be very welcome to attend.

I'd consider a trip to Seattle/Tacoma if the timing is right. It's been a little to long since I visited my dad in Tacoma (where I was born and raised)
