A comment on Tarbuster's Dec. 4 second photo and caption ("John Rosholt, Shelley, Mike & Brenda Waugh.... Maybe a guy named Jim?"):

I'm pretty sure the standing guy with the biking cap is my climbing partner Andrew Kaplan, gunks climber and ace bike racer from NYC.

Steven Ampter,

It's amazing how productive this forum is at collecting people!
A couple of years ago when I first posted that photo which you are in, we were wondering...

As to the second one, with Mike and Brenda Waugh, I'm not so sure about your guess.
Jan Mcollum (sp) AKA G_Gnome, said he knew that guy and I believe he was from San Fernando Valley California.

Not that I know or remember anything,
Mostly I just took pictures and caused mischief!!!

These two shots are a little bit sad...

Well it is not Ned Guy (Keith Guy) if that's who you're thinking.
I would've remembered him being there, otherwise I haven't a clue...
Possibly some uber-bricked German fellah.

Time to crank up the "who's back is that?" machine.

I just knew Wally would tag the Bill Russell transport.
Both of these photos were taken in the 90s, so I don't think Keith Guy for that reason alone.

You are a class act Mr. Wally.

Hey, doesn't Bill Russell, I mean isn't he starting to look like Harvey Keitel?

Tarbuster:

You're probably right - Andrew Kaplan says he doesn't think that's him in the photo.

Dick Peter
The Gal in the middle is Melanie. I met them when Cliff Howard another guy Jim (maybe) and I were hiking up to do the Lost Arrow Tip. I saw two gals taking pictures of each other at the top of Yose Falls and told the guys I would catch up.
I hiked over to offer to take pictures of them together.
This led to both of them hiking over with me to watch.
That led two non climbers to the top of the Arrows tip.
Then the Ahawanee Sweet Shop and some climbs at Manure Pile.
They were so kind a few days later to meet Cliff and me topping out on Half Dome.
Melanie and I remained friends for a number of years. Her mom and Dad were really cool.
I was just in contact with her last September. Yes Dick she remembered you and was at my cooking (Lodge parking under the trees area) when Cliff , Yabo and someone , maybe Bard had a hot sauce drinking contest.
She was surfing for an event in Yosemite and stumbled on ST. She was scrolling posts and saw my name and thought I wonder? So she emailed me and we caught up on the past twenty five years.

Linda is still good friends with Melanie
Cliff is Linda showing her how it would work
