BooDawg, don't be sad. Scuff is Mr. Smooth. :)
He'll float this, like a lot of his other projects.
Some real nice visits from folks! Dig that!

Thanks, Munge, for the reminder. Yes, I KNOW Scuffy will recover fully; it was just such a surprise that such a dynamic and POSITIVE person, Scuffy, should encounter this setback. But he is already on the mend thanks to everyone here and his other care-givers.

Greetings to Ladyscarlett
super post last week. wow.
Would you be so kind as to tell me
whether the note I believe I sent you a few days ago
when I clicked the box on ST Post a Reply,
"send an email to Ladyscarlett"
ever arrived.
Several pieces of correspondence, both to and fro,
seem to have disappeared into the ozone.
Thanks.

Hi Amy Jo
I just checked my email and my spam and no dice on the note. Must have gone into the ozone somehow. I'll double check my Taco settings to make sure all is well.
Thanks, it's been a while since I've been inspired to post and it felt good to be able to share an indelible moment that had been hiding in my brain alone.
And Scuffy...thanks for the inspiration!
:D

Very sorry to hear that Steve has encountered this bump in the road of life, but glad that he's in good hands, and hope that he'll be better soon. Time and effort are what's needed - but all awful widthers know about that already! Please pass on my good wishes to him.

Scuffy, I want to know whether you have done the Crack of Doom yet. If not (or otherwise, really), I want to do it with you when you can. We can do paper-rock-scissors for leads.

May I suggest the Following routes as a possible rehab program before you attempt Crack of Doom?

Please help.
Dear Friends at Supertopo,
I am writing to thank you for all the encouraging posts.
I originally posted the news of Steve Moyles
Because no one knew
and he needed to know there were people around him.
So many people have posted and visited.
It’s so helpful.
The stroke seems not to have affected his physical abilities
But it has so far left him with great difficulty talking.
Although he understands, he struggles to speak.
But he is still so recognizably Scuffy.
After spending several days at the hospital in San Jose.
He was discharged to a Skilled Nursing Facility.
Now we are informed that the facility is discharging him 9/07,
this coming Wednesday.
(There may be some transitional housing available
but it is also short-term.)
He is in URGENT need of a place to live, rental.
Preferably in Santa Cruz.
It would be great if he were to find a place with friends
or people of similar interests.
He needs and is eligible for much therapy,
Either where he lives or at the hospital,
so the place needs to be near public transportation .
Could you please think hard about this situation
Is anyone looking for a roommate
or have a room to rent or a house to share
near public transportation.
Thank you.
Amy Jo

Scuffy bump for Amy Jo's message about Steve needing a room to rent.
When I saw him Thursday, he said his dance friends had him doing some steps.

Someone (a climbing partner I am with right now) who lives in Santa Cruz who knows him might know of two possibilities. She had not heard about what happened. AmyJo, Chris thinks she knows you. Are you an acupuncturist?
Can I reach you or him through Facebook? ST messaging does not work but Zi don't want to communicate thru this thread.
I will send a facebook message to his account.

I also have some leads on a possible rental in Emeryville, but don't want to go into details here.
Edited for paranoia's sake. Thanks!
Cheers!

Hi Steve,
I am thinking of you every time I go by Gibraltar rock. Way back then, we did not have much to fear and life was always at 100mph. You were tough then, and are tough now so I am sure you will come out OK. I hope that someday soon we will connect again.
Cheers!!
Phillip.
PS I hope jaybro eventually got one of the carabiner from those days to you. I still use them.
amyjo, thanks for the posting. You are indeed a true friend of Steve.
