I got mine!!!! Pictures to follow.
I ordered the gift for my person today and had to pay expedited shipping. That's what you get for procrastinating. I just inherited a large mountaineering book collection. Thought I would thumb through that and find an appropriate vintage book to add to the gift.

Wait a minute. It's 14 days before Christmas. How can you be a procrastinator? I'm mailing mine on Thursday because I'm in Kansas City at the moment.

Okay, the stars have aligned. My lame ass gift goes out on Friday. Thanks Russ!
Damn wrapping and you people with opposable thumbs. Whatever happened to using a brown paper bag......
edit: just funning. I have thumbs but can't wrap a package to save my ass.

UPS YANKS INNOCENT TACOIAN'S CHAIN; CAUSES MASSIVE DEPRESSION
That's what the NY Times front page should read today.
See yesterday, on my 115th (OCD, right?) checking of the UPS Tracking site, it showed a DELIVERY SCHEDULE CHANGE. I panicked for a second...until I read that my gift was to be delivered earlier than scheduled! TUESDAY instead of WEDNESDAY!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
Went to bed last night with visions of my giftee happily ripping open their package in a few short hours, singing praises to St. Nick for such a great Taco gig.
Got up and checked this thread.
Nothing.
Zilch.
Not a word from You Know Who (actually, you don't know Who, but I Do, and there was nary a word from 'em).
I sat here for a moment, trying to come to grips with the fact that I possibly got one of those giftees who likes to receive but HATES to post about it...or possibly I got one of those giftees who HATES everything they receive from UPS no matter what it is, just because they hate UPS (I understand this)...or maybe I even--gulp--got one of those giftees who, although posting on a climbing website, doesn't actually climb...in fact, pretends to climb, but really HATES all things climbing and would therefore find the largest part of my gift totally worthless and perhaps even consider trashing it. (Wait! wait! you can always use it as a paperweight! or a flowerpot! or a safety-pin for someone in Depends!)
Finally, in the middle of the madness, I checked the UPS Tracking site, and saw that those bustards had bungled their Early Delivery Notification planning and were back to delivering it today.
Whew. Now I'm gonna go make myself a big ol' cuppa Dingus' coffee and think about how OCD people like me might not aught to know about things like the UPS Tracking site...nawmean?

As I arrived home from carting other people kids around in a large yellow limo, I came across the mail man. From him I received a package from Fish. I thought to myself, 'I have not ordered anything from Fish since before I climbed Zodiac last spring (TR is coming) WHY DO I HAVE A PACKAGE?'
Well it turns out that my Secret Santa gift arrived nice and early. I was worried that it would arrive while ice climbing in Colorado. Now I have quality luggage for the trip! Thank you Russ!
This reminds me, Now I just need to buy a gift and send it!
P.S. NOW my friends wish they had signed up for the exchange!

I made out like a bandit. Look at this generous haul. But be careful, it was guarded my a serpent.
Thank you, Secret Santa!
I think I am going to plant this snake in my squeamish 35 year old son's Christmas stocking. We are all still kids at heart!

I did see the beaded bracelet in the bottom of the box. Moonlight thought he was de-rattling a rattler. He's still eyeing the snake with suspicion. It really is an embarassing haul of gifts.....got me shopping to augment my box.

Stuff I ordered has been on delivery for 2 days now.. grrrr.
Never fear the recipient will get it before Christmas if I have to go find the truck in the distribution center myself.
Edit
So of course what shows up at my door a few minutes ago...
Secret Stuff!!
Since they took the time to wrap it I will wait till Christmas Eve to open.
(unless I run out of food) I'm thinking the silvery one might be edible.. scary.. It's from Colorado...
:)
